Fetal growth after premature rupture of membranes
American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, 1977Four patients with preterm rupture of the membranes were treated conservatively. During the period of observation (five to nine weeks), each fetus displayed a normal rate of growth as measured by serial biperietal diameter determinations.

Fetal immune response following prematurely ruptured membranes
American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, 1976Concentrations of immunoglobulins (Ig)A1, and IgA2, IgD, IgE, IgG, and IgM have been determined in cord blood, amniotic fluid, and maternal serum in a group of patients with a history of prematurely ruptured membranes (PRM) prior to the onset of labor and in a control group of patients undergoing normal delivery and without a history of infection ...

Premature Rupture of Fetal Membranes
Clinical Pediatrics, 1966The study here described represents another attempt to estimate under con trolled conditions the value of prophylac tic treatment with antibiotics for normal infants born to otherwise healthy moth ers after premature rupture of the am niotic membranes.

Full-term and prematurely ruptured fetal membranes
Cell and Tissue Research, 1981The layers of the human amnion and chorion were examined by light and transmission electron microscopy. Comparisons among different anatomical sites with respect to full-term and prematurely ruptured membranes indicate that (a) the thickness of the membranes is reduced near the rupture point; (b) intercellular canals near the implantation site become ...

Ascorbic acid deficiency and premature rupture of fetal membranes
American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, 1964EASTMANI estimates the incidence of spontaneous premature rupture of the membranes to be approximately 12 per cent of all deliveries. Calkin? states that in 7,000 consecutive deliveries at the University of Kansas Medical Center, premature rupture occurred in 1 of 7 deliveries.

[Premature rupture of fetal membranes and premature labor].
Zentralblatt fur Gynakologie, 1977The portion of early rupture of the membranes among 521 premature births from 1962 to 1971 was 43.4%. The statistically sure effects of the early rupture of the fetal membranes to some irregularities in pregnancy and delivery on 214 premature births are reported, compared with 202 premature births without early rupture of the membranes.

Premature Rupture of Fetal Membranes Changes in Collagen Type
Acta Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, 1988AbstractCollagen from the chorioamnion units from premature and term pregnancies was solubilized by limited pepsin digestion and subjected to SDS‐PAG electrophoresis. Collagen types were quantitated by densitometry. It was found that collagen type III decreases and collagen type V tends to increase as gestational age advances.

Fetal Behavior in Preterm Premature Rupture of the Membranes
Clinics in Perinatology, 1989Although the subject has been the focus of a large body of obstetric literature, premature rupture of the membranes and its pathogenesis, management, and incidence of sequelae remain confused and controversial. The origins of this disquieting state of affairs can be traced to the lack of a specific, narrow definition of the condition, and resultant ...

Fetal breathing movements after preterm premature rupture of membranes
American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, 1991Forty-three patients with preterm premature rupture of membranes were studied between 24 and 34 weeks' gestation. Intraamniotic infection was excluded by amniocentesis. There were significantly fewer fetal breathing movements for the first 2 weeks of membrane rupture, compared with controls, with a return to near normal by the third week.
