Influence of Retained Fetal Membranes on Reproductive Health of Crossbred Cows

open access: yes, 2017
A study was carried out to compare the effect of retained fetal membranes on reproductive health of crossbred cows. 24 crossbred cows selected were divided into control group (consisted of 6 cows which had normal 3rd phase of parturition) and RFM group ...

Role of altered amniotic fluid cytokine profile in in development of fetal membrane insufficiency

open access: yesМедицинская иммунология
Studies on pathogenesis of fetal membrane insufficiency in preterm pregnancy should expand the opportunities of predicting prenatal rupture of amniotic fluid and improve the strategy of anticipant gestation management in cases of premature rupture of the

YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.

Structural biology of the human fetal membranes.

open access: yes, 1995
During pregnancy the fetus is surrounded by amniotic fluid which is enclosed within a sac formed by the fetal membranes. They maintain their structural integrity and remain intact until after the onset of labour at term. The structural characteristics of

Identifying transcription factors controlling the basal expression of human MRP4 highlights a substantial role for Sp1

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The MRP4 transporter exports several drugs and signaling molecules. Here, we identified key promoter elements regulating basal MRP4 expression. Using reporter assays, we defined a conserved region with essential Sp1 and contributory Ets sites, which controlled basal MRP4 expression.

Oxytocin modulates nitric oxide generation by human fetal membranes at term pregnancy

open access: yes, 2004
PROBLEM: Nitric oxide (NO), an important mediator of the inflammatory response, is involved in several reproductive processes including pregnancy and labor. Uterus, placenta and fetal membranes are significant sources of NO.

Optimizing photoactivation of PA‐mCherry for optical pooled CRISPR screens

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Photoactivatable PA‐mCherry finds widespread use to optically tag individual cells. However, confocal 405 nm UV laser‐scanning (normal scan) is much less efficient than widefield UV illumination, limiting the use of PA‐mCherry on confocal instruments. We remedy this limitation by reporting that rapid and repeated confocal scanning with a low‐intensity,
