Decellularized liver extracellular matrix scaffolds provide a platform to study dormant liver‐metastatic colorectal cancer. They induce reversible dormancy, in combination with nutrient depletion and low dose chemotherapy, through cell cycle arrest and chemotherapy resistance.

Replicating aging and senescence‐related pathophysiological responses in kidney organoids remains a significant challenge. Human adult renal tubular organoid, tubuloids, are successfully developed recapitulating cellular senescence that is the central pathophysiological mechanism of chronic kidney disease (CKD).

This study introduces an innovative approach to treating intervertebral disc degeneration using ultrasound‐triggered in situ hydrogel formation. Proof‐of‐concept experiments using optimized biomaterial and ultrasound parameters demonstrate partial restoration of biomechanical function and successful integration into degenerated disc tissue, offering a ...

The validity of the concepts of exchange and net flow and of the method used to measure them was proved by utilizing a standard artificial membrane. The exchange rates across the amniochorion of D- and L-isomers of various amino acids have been measured. They do not differ.

Premature Rupture of Fetal Membranes
Postgraduate Medicine, 1967Premature rupture of fetal membranes increases maternal morbidity and perinatal mortality when labor does not ensue promptly. Two schools of management of this problem have developed: the activists, who favor induction of labor if it does not occur spontaneously within 24 hours, and the conservatives, who prefer close clinical observation with no ...

Abstract. Samples from different parts of the fetal membranes were examined by both light and transmission electron microscopy. Samples were obtained during elective ce‐sarean section after full‐term normal pregnancy. The results indicated that the different layers of the membranes had undergone ukrastructural changes varying according to the site ...

BULK FLOWS THROUGH HUMAN FETAL MEMBRANES
Obstetrical & Gynecological Survey, 1976Bulk water flows across term human amnio-chorion are studied in vitro. The hydrodynamic permeability is found to vary with both hydrostatic and osmotic pressure. The coefficient characterizing flows generated by hydrostatic pressure is substantially larger than that characterizing osmotic flows.

The Placenta and Fetal Membranes
The American Journal of the Medical Sciences, 1960to the very rapidly expanding list of available texts, reviews, and symposia dealing with medical and basic scientific topics. Basically, this work presents the proceedings of a conference dealing with the placenta and fetal membranes. This conference, sponsored by the Association for the Aid of Crippled Children, was held in November, 1958, at ...

The purpose of this study was to determine the biomechanical characteristics of human fetal membranes (FM) throughout gestation. Biomechanical properties were determined for 115 FM of 23-41 weeks gestation using our previously described methodology. The areas of membrane immediately adjacent to the strongest and weakest tested spots were sampled for ...

Histopathology of retained bovine fetal membranes
Theriogenology, 1994Placentomes were obtained from 20 cows with retained placenta (9 following normal birth, 5 after abortion and 6 with dystocia), and this material was examined by light microscopy. Histologic changes that were consistently seen in placentomes of cows with retained placenta after normal birth included vascular changes (edema, thrombosis and vasculitis ...
