Feto-Feto-Fetal triplet transfusion syndrome (FFFTTS)

The Journal of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, 1997
We report a case of feto-feto-fetal-transfusion-syndrome (FFFTS) in a spontaneous monochorionic triamniotic triplet pregnancy primarily diagnosed at 17 weeks of gestation. During the course of pregnancy, sequentially two triplets appeared as donor. Symptoms of a recipient (polyhydramnios, tricuspid valve insufficiency, and ascites) were present in the ...

[18F]FETO: metabolic considerations

European Journal of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging, 2006
11beta-Hydroxylase is a key enzyme in the biosynthesis of adrenocortical steroid hormones and is a suitable target for the imaging of the adrenal cortex. [(11)C]Metomidate (MTO), [(11)C]etomidate (ETO) and desethyl-[(18)F]fluoroethyl-etomidate (FETO) are potent inhibitors of this enzyme and are used for PET imaging of adrenocortical pathologies.

Feto-placental circulatory competence

European Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Reproductive Biology, 1986
Doppler assessment of the pulsatility index (PI) of umbilical artery blood velocities offers promise as a simple, non-invasive method for early diagnosis of placental failure. The present report identifies the hemodynamic factors determining this PI, based on current knowledge of feto-placental physiology.

FETO‐MATERNAL AMINO ACID METABOLISM

BJOG: An International Journal of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, 1974
SummaryConcentrations of amino acids and related compounds in 111 samples of amniotic fluid obtained by transabdominal amniocentesis, and 89 corresponding maternal plasmas were measured using a Beckman 121 Automatic amino acid analyzer. Thirty‐six amino acids and related compounds were identified in amniotic fluid and/or maternal plasma samples.
