A multiscale growth atlas of Arabidopsis: linking cell dynamics to organ development

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 249, Issue 1, Page 299-324, January 2026.
Summary Plant development depends on coordinated growth at cellular and organ scales, yet comparative analyses are hindered by inconsistent reporting of growth across studies. We conducted a meta‐analysis of Arabidopsis thaliana growth dynamics, integrating data from 176 studies to create the first multiscale atlas of plant growth.

Hyperspectral imaging has a limited ability to remotely sense the onset of beech bark disease

open access: yesRemote Sensing in Ecology and Conservation, Volume 11, Issue 6, Page 656-669, December 2025.
Although hyperspectral imaging is a powerful remote sensing tool, it proved ineffective in predicting the progression of beech bark disease, except in its later stages, both at the canopy and leaf levels. While some alterations in chlorophyll, water content, and canopy structure may have influenced foliar reflectance at the canopy scale, as suggested ...

Can Politics Explain Contracting Out?

open access: yesEconomics &Politics, Volume 37, Issue 3, Page 915-930, November 2025.
ABSTRACT The theoretical literature suggests that political ideology matters in the decision to contract out public sector services, whereas the empirical literature is divided. We seek to explain the divide in the empirical literature by providing a link from theory to our empirical analysis by describing the nature of political competition. Using the
