Mode manipulation based on few-mode fiber devices

In this paper, several kinds of few-mode fiber (FMF) based devices has been designed. Then an all-FMF mode-locked ring laser with carbon nanotubes was demonstrated with the generation of high purity cylindrical vector beams (CVBs).

Distributed Characterization of Few-Mode Fibers Based on Optical Frequency Domain Reflectometry

A novel reflectometric technique to measure distributedly group delay and modal birefringence in few mode fibers is presented. Preliminary results performed on a photonic lantern confirm the viability of the method.
