Nationwide trends in macular hole, epiretinal membrane and floaters surgery, 2010–2023

open access: yesActa Ophthalmologica, Volume 104, Issue 2, Page 193-200, March 2026.
Abstract Purpose To examine the incidence of pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) for full‐thickness macular hole (FTMH), epiretinal membrane (ERM) and floaters over time and across regions in Denmark. Methods This nationwide registry‐based study included all patients undergoing PPV for FTMH, ERM, or floaters in Denmark from 2010 to 2023.

Use of sodium‐glucose cotransporter‐2 inhibitors among older adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus in British Columbia

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, Volume 28, Issue 3, Page 1915-1923, March 2026.
Abstract Aims Clinical guidelines recommend sodium‐glucose cotransporter‐2 inhibitors (SGLT2is) for individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and established or high risk of cardiorenal disease. This study examined real‐world SGLT2i use patterns among older adults with T2DM in British Columbia, Canada.

Patient Outcomes Among Medicare Beneficiaries With Guillain–Barré Syndrome

open access: yesJournal of the Peripheral Nervous System, Volume 31, Issue 1, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Understanding of population‐level outcomes for patients with Guillain–Barré syndrome (GBS) remains limited. We identified which GBS patients are most likely to experience worse outcomes using the largest and most current GBS cohort in the United States.

Acute effect of foot strike patterns on in vivo tibiotalar and subtalar joint kinematics during barefoot running

open access: yesJournal of Sport and Health Science
Background: Foot kinematics, such as excessive eversion and malalignment of the hindfoot, are believed to be associated with running-related injuries. The majority of studies to date show that different foot strike patterns influence these specific foot ...

Overlapping forms of granulomatosis with polyangiitis and eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis: Insights from a European multicenter study

open access: yesJournal of Internal Medicine, Volume 299, Issue 3, Page 349-364, March 2026.
Abstract Background Granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA) and eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (EGPA) are distinct forms of antineutrophil cytoplasm antibody (ANCA)‐associated vasculitis (AAV). Increasing evidence suggests overlapping features, particularly in proteinase 3 (PR3)‐ANCA‐positive EGPA and GPA with eosinophilia.

Scalable, Bottom‐Up Synthesis of Transition Metal–Doped Quantum Confined, 1D Titanate‐Based Lepidocrocite Nanofilaments, Their Electronic Structures and Oxygen Evolution Reactivity

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 13, Issue 3, 3 February 2026.
Quantum‐confined lepidocrocite titanate nanofilaments are doped, bottom‐up, with Mn+2, Fe+2, Co+2, Ni+2, and Cu+2 to tune electronic structure and catalysis. Doping narrows the bandgap—by up to ∼0.8 eV—and extends visible absorption. Ni‐doped filaments accelerate oxygen evolution (319 mV at 10 mA cm−2) and TM‐doped samples rapidly degrade rhodamine 6G (

Potential Application of Linear Programming Method and Solid‐State Fermentation in Improving the Quality of Fish Feed and Profits of Small‐Scale Nile Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) Farming in Tanzania

open access: yesAquaculture, Fish and Fisheries, Volume 6, Issue 1, February 2026.
ABSTRACT The scarcity of affordable and high‐quality fish feeds limits aquaculture development in many developing countries. The present study assessed the use of linear programming (LP) techniques for formulating Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) diets and solid‐state fermentation (SSF) technology to improve their nutritional value.

Guanidinium Like‐Charge Ion Pairing and Oligoarginine Aggregation in Water by Nuclear Magnetic Resonance, Cryo‐Electron Microscopy, and Molecular Dynamics

open access: yesAggregate, Volume 7, Issue 2, February 2026.
This study shows that guanidinium cations weakly attract one another in water and form like‐charge contact ion pairs. From NMR, we determine the free energy of ion‐pair formation to be ≈${\approx }$ –0.5 kJ mol−1${\rm mol}^{-1}$, consistent with all‐atom MD simulations and DFT calculations.

Dose–Response Effects of Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation for Chronic Low Back Pain: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Pain, Volume 30, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) is a widely used non‐pharmacological method for pain management, though its effectiveness in individuals with chronic low back pain (CLBP) is uncertain. Previous studies and systematic reviews have not systematically analysed the influence of TENS dosing parameters on treatment ...

PSMA PET‐directed radiotherapy for prostate cancer: From precision planning to future innovations

open access: yesVIEW, Volume 7, Issue 1, February 2026.
Prostate‐specific membrane antigen (PSMA) positron emission tomography (PET) imaging enables highly sensitive detection of prostate cancer recurrence and precise lesion mapping. This review summarizes current evidence and emerging applications of PSMA PET in radiotherapy, including diagnostic staging, target delineation, adaptive planning, and outcome ...
