FFT Compiler Techniques [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
This paper presents compiler technology that targets general purpose microprocessors augmented with SIMD execution units for exploiting data level parallelism. Numerical applications are accelerated by automatically vectorizing blocks of straight line code to be run on processors featuring two-way short vector SIMD extensions like Intel’s SSE 2 on ...

Atomic‐Level Dual‐Cation Engineering Enables High‐Performance Na4VMn(PO4)3 Cathodes for Sodium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Dual‐cation site engineering unlocks stable and fast sodium storage in Na4VMn(PO4)3 cathodes. Li+ at Na2 suppresses Jahn‐Teller distortion, while K+ at Na1 expands ion channels, enabling synchronized V/Mn redox and quasi‐single‐phase kinetics. This atomic‐level strategy achieves ultralong cycling stability, high‐rate capability, and full cell viability

Stoma‐Shell Nanoarchitecture for Enhanced Plasma Confinement Catalysis in Synthesis of Ethanol from CO2

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
High‐energy electron impact in plasma catalysis often causes excessive dissociation of active intermediates, limiting C2+ product selectivity. To address this challenge, a bio‐inspired stoma‐shell nanoarchitecture is designed to decouple electron impact from catalytic reaction zones.

High-Dimensional FFT

open access: yes, 2018
In this chapter, we discuss methods for the approximation of d-variate functions in high dimension \(d\in \mathbb N\) based on sampling along rank-1 lattices and we derive the corresponding fast algorithms. In contrast to Chap. 4, our approach to compute the Fourier coefficients of d-variate functions is no longer based on tensor product methods.

Photoconductivity‐Driven Quantum Efficiency Gain in Inorganic Ruddlesden‐Popper Layered Cs2PbBr2I2 Perovskite Photodetector for Visible Light Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Rational halogen mixing strategy was employed to shift the bandgap of Cs2PbBr2I2 from ultraviolet to visible region, enabling first realization of a visible‐light photodetector with this 2D layered Ruddlesden‐Popper perovskite material. Under illumination, light‐induced internal field forms and drives trap‐mediated persistent photoconductivity ...

Scalable Thermal Engineering via Femtosecond Laser‐Direct‐Written Phononic Nanostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that femtosecond laser‐induced periodic surface structures (fs‐LIPSS) can function as phononic metasurfaces, reducing thermal conductivity below the plain thin‐film limit. Phonon Monte Carlo analysis reveals that the periodic structures restrict phonon mean free paths.

FFT based convolution

open access: yesThe Insight Journal, 2010
The Fourier transform of the convolution of two images is equal to the product of their Fourier transform. With this definition, it is possible to create a convolution filter based on the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT). The interesting complexity characteristics of this transform gives a very efficient convolution filter for large kernel images. This ...

High Entropy Wide‐Bandgap Borates with Broadband Luminescence and Large Nonlinear Optical properties

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
High‐entropy rare‐earth borates exhibit excellent nonlinear optical and broadband luminescence properties arising from multi‐component doping, chemical disorder, increased configurational entropy, and increased lattice and electronic anharmonicity. This formulation enabled us to obtain a large, environmentally stable single crystal with 3X higher laser‐
