Quadrature decomposition of optical fields using two orthogonal phase sensitive amplifiers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We propose a new technique to optically process coherent signals by simultaneously extracting their two (I and Q) quadrature components into two orthogonal polarizations at the same frequency.

Packed for Ossification: High‐Density Bioprinting of hPDC Spheroids in HAMA Toward Endochondral Ossification

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Human periosteum‐derived cell spheroids bioprinted at high density within a hyaluronic acid matrix promote fusion and hypertrophic cartilage formation in vitro. Early encapsulation enhances spheroid interaction and matrix maturation, generating scalable cartilage templates intended for endochondral bone regeneration.

Optimisation of DSF and SOA based phase conjugators by incorporating noise-suppressing fibre gratings

open access: yes, 1997
We compare the performance of dispersion-shifted-fibre (DSF) and semiconductor-optical-amplifier (SOA) based phase conjugators for a 10 Gb/s non-return-to-zero system with respect to conversion efficiency, noise figure and distortion.

Immunoinflammatory Mechanisms and Biocompatibility of Bioactive Dental Biomaterials: From Fundamental Insights to Clinical Translation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Surface‐host dialogue at the implant interface governs biological fate and osseointegration. Surface physicochemical properties of titanium (Ti) dental implants, including microgrooves, nanopatterns, nanotopography, roughness, and wettability, modulate the initial adsorption of proteins and the formation of a dynamic biointerface.

Сompensator of polarization mode dispersion based on spiral-wound single-mode fiber [PDF]

open access: yesTekhnologiya i Konstruirovanie v Elektronnoi Apparature, 2013
A polarization mode dispersion (PMD) compensator for single-mode optical fiber has been designed. Its operation principle is based on the use of artificial difference of phase velocities of the basic ordinary and extraordinary waves in spiral-wound fiber,
