Prediction of Thermal Conductivity of a Rock Wool Board by Computer X-Ray Tomography Technique Scanning and Random Generation-Growth Model

open access: yesAdvances in Materials Science and Engineering, 2022
Thermal conductivity of rock wool boards was investigated in this study. Although distribution of fibers in a realistic rock wool board is unclear, it can be simulated by computer X-ray tomography technique (CT) followed by rearrangement through the ...

Sub-pm/$\mathrm{\mathbf{\sqrt{\rm Hz}}}$ non-reciprocal noise in the LISA backlink fiber

open access: yes, 2017
The future space-based gravitational wave detector Laser Interferometer Space Antenna (LISA) requires bidirectional exchange of light between its two optical benches on board of each of its three satellites.

Decay Resistance of Medium Density Fibreboard (MDF) Made from Pineapple Leaf Fiber

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical and Fundamental Sciences, 2015
Medium density fiberboard (MDF) production is increasing due to the development of manufacturing technologies. MDF products are utilized for traditional wood applications that require fungal resistance.

Fiber Orientation as a Means to Control Formation on the Ultra-Former Through Changes in the Spouting Jet to Wire Speed Ratio and Stock Consistency in the Headbox [PDF]

open access: yes, 1972
The Ultra-Former is a new type of multi-ply board machine. It uses a cylinder mold without a vat and has a stock delivery system that uses a headbox similar to that found on a fourdrinier machine.

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Evaluation of a discrete 4-PAM optical link for future automotive networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
A comparative study is presented between NRZ and 4-PAM to investigate the feasibility of Gigabit transmission in automotive optical networks. The system utilizes a SI-PCS fiber and an 850 nm VCSEL as transmitter.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Angle division multiplexing in multimode fibers for optical board-to-board interconnection [PDF]

open access: yesSPIE Proceedings, 1999
The propagation angle θ˚ between the symmetry axis of a fiber and the principle propagation direction of a beam is conserved over short distances within a step-index multimode fiber. This conservation behavior can be used for multiplexed transmission by assigning different channels to different propagation angles.

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Corticospinal Tract (CST) reconstruction based on fiber orientation distributions(FODs) tractography

open access: yes, 2019
The Corticospinal Tract (CST) is a part of pyramidal tract (PT), and it can innervate the voluntary movement of skeletal muscle through spinal interneurons (the 4th layer of the Rexed gray board layers), and anterior horn motorneurons (which control ...
