A fiber optic relative humidity (RH) sensor based on the tilted fiber Bragg grating (TFBG) coated with graphene oxide (GO) film was presented. Amplitudes of the cladding mode resonances of the TFGB varies with the water sorption and desorption processes ...

Polymer micro-fiber Bragg grating
Optics Letters, 2013Polymer micro-fibers with inscribed Bragg gratings are reported in this Letter. Starting with a single-mode polymer optical fiber and implementing a two-stage tapering process, a 16 μm diameter micro-fiber is fabricated and a Bragg grating is inscribed in it that exhibits a peak reflected wavelength circa 1530 nm.

A low cost, highly accurate and light intensity-independent sensor system for the analysis of fiber Bragg grating signals based on fiber Bragg gratings in the detection unit is presented. The setup is based on two fiber Bragg gratings used in reflection to analyse one sensing fiber Bragg grating.

Ultrashort bragg soliton in a fiber bragg grating
Optics Communications, 2002The propagation of a nonlinear ultrashort pulse in a photonic bandgap structure is investigated by using the finite-difference time-domain method. The simulation results show that an ultrashort pulse near the bandgap edge can propagate through a nonlinear fiber Bragg grating, even if the broadband spectrum of this ultrashort pulse overlaps the whole ...

Cantor set fiber Bragg grating
Journal of the Optical Society of America A, 2000The theory of fractals has already been applied to many fields in science, such as physics, biology, and chemistry. One of the most commonly used fractals in these applications is the Cantor set. Novel fiber Bragg gratings are proposed that combine the present technology of fiber Bragg gratings with the theory of Cantor sets. The principal goal of this

We propose a novel approach for achieving selective transverse mode operation of few-mode all-fiber lasers. Lasing in a specific transverse mode is enabled by employing a pair of few-mode fiber Bragg gratings as an efficient transverse mode selector.

Publisher Summary This chapter examines different aspects chirped fiber Bragg gratings. Gratings that have a non-uniform period along their length are known as chirped. Chirp in gratings take different forms. The period varies symmetrically, either increasing or decreasing in period around a pitch in the middle of a grating.

Theory of Fiber Bragg Gratings
1999Publisher Summary This chapter reviews the theory of fiber Bragg gratings. A fiber Bragg grating of a constant refractive index modulation and period therefore has an analytical solution. A complex grating is considered to be a concatenation of several small sections, each of constant period and unique refractive index modulation.

Microwave spectroscopy of the fiber Bragg grating
2015 International Conference on Antenna Theory and Techniques (ICATT), 2015In this paper the modulation methods for poly-harmonic microwave signals on optical carrier forming and detecting are demonstrated, especially for applications in fiber-optic sensor systems. The methods of the single-frequency optical signal conversion into the poly-harmonic ones with the difference frequency between the components of SHF, UHF and ...
