Enhancement of the sensitivity of a temperature sensor based on fiber Bragg gratings via weak value amplification. [PDF]

open access: yesOptics Letters, 2015
We present a proof-of-concept experiment aimed at increasing the sensitivity of Fiber-Bragg-gratings temperature sensors by making use of a weak-value-amplification scheme.

Brillouin lasing in single-mode tapered optical fiber with inscribed fiber Bragg grating array

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2018
A tapered optical fiber has been manufactured with an array of fiber Bragg gratings (FBG) inscribed during the drawing process. The total fiber peak reflectivity is 5% and the reflection bandwidth is ∼3.5 nm. A coherent frequency domain reflectometry has

Fabrication of chirped and tilted fiber Bragg gratings and suppression of stimulated Raman scattering in fiber amplifiers.

open access: yesOptics Express, 2017
Stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) is one of the main limits for fiber lasers further power scaling. We report on the suppression of the stimulated Raman scattering in fiber laser amplifier using chirped and tilted fiber Bragg gratings (CTFBGs) for the ...

Advances on Polymer Optical Fiber Gratings Using a KrF Pulsed Laser System Operating at 248 nm

open access: yesFibers, 2018
This paper presents the achievements and progress made on the polymer optical fiber (POF) gratings inscription in different types of Fiber Bragg Gratings (FBGs) and long period gratings (LPGs). Since the first demonstration of POFBGs in 1999, significant

High-precision point-by-point fiber Bragg grating inscription

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2021
The paper presents a novel multi-pass point-by-point method for high-precision inscription of fiber Bragg gratings with a femtosecond laser radiation. The dynamics of the gratings formation is demonstrated in comparison with the classical method of UV ...

Polymer Fiber Bragg Gratings [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
This chapter deals with gratings recorded in polymeric optical fibers (POFs); predominantly those based on poly (methyl methacrylate) (PMMA). We summarize the different mechanical and optical properties of POFs which are relevant to the application of POF Bragg gratings and discuss the existing literature on the subject of the UV photosensitivity of ...

Mechanically Tunable Bone Scaffolds: In Vivo Hardening of 3D‐Printed Calcium Phosphate/Polycaprolactone Inks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A 3D bone scaffold with osteogenic properties and capable of hardening in vivo is developed. The scaffold is implanted in a ductile state, and a phase transformation of the ceramic induces the stiffening and strengthening of the scaffold in vivo. Abstract Calcium phosphate 3D printing has revolutionized customized bone grafting.
