Fiber bundle endocytoscopy

open access: yesBiomedical Optics Express, 2013
Endocytoscopy is an optical biopsy technique which uses a miniaturized camera to capture white light microscopy images through an endoscope. We have developed an alternative design that instead relays images to an external camera via a coherent fiber bundle.

Glued linear connection on surface of the projective space

open access: yesДифференциальная геометрия многообразий фигур, 2020
We consider a surface as a variety of centered planes in a multidimensional projective space. A fiber bundle of the linear coframes appears over this manifold. It is important to emphasize the fiber bundle is not the principal bundle.

White Matter Microstructural Differences between Essential Tremor and Parkinson Disease, Evaluated Using Advanced Diffusion MRI Biomarkers

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Neuroscience, 2023
Background: Essential tremor (ET) is a common slowly-progressive neurologic disorder. It is predominantly characterized by kinetic tremors involving bilateral upper limbs.

Complex collagen fiber and membrane morphologies of the whole porcine aortic valve. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
Replacement aortic valves endeavor to mimic native valve function at the organ, tissue, and in the case of bioprosthetic valves, the cellular levels.

Second harmonic generation light quantifies the ratio of type III to total (I + III) collagen in a bundle of collagen fiber

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
The ratio of type III to type I collagen is important for properly maintaining functions of organs and cells. We propose a method to quantify the ratio of type III to total (type I + III) collagen (λ III ) in a given collagen fiber bundle using second ...

Tractography dissection variability: What happens when 42 groups dissect 14 white matter bundles on the same dataset?

open access: yesNeuroImage, 2021
White matter bundle segmentation using diffusion MRI fiber tractography has become the method of choice to identify white matter fiber pathways in vivo in human brains.

A Sensitive and Automatic White Matter Fiber Tracts Model for Longitudinal Analysis of Diffusion Tensor Images in Multiple Sclerosis. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
Diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) is a sensitive tool for the assessment of microstructural alterations in brain white matter (WM). We propose a new processing technique to detect, local and global longitudinal changes of diffusivity metrics, in homologous ...

PhyberSIM: a tool for the generation of ground truth to evaluate brain fiber clustering algorithms

open access: yesFrontiers in Neuroscience
Diffusion Magnetic Resonance Imaging tractography is a non-invasive technique that produces a collection of streamlines representing the main white matter bundle trajectories.

Interplay between circadian and other transcription factors—Implications for cycling transcriptome reprogramming

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This perspective highlights emerging insights into how the circadian transcription factor CLOCK:BMAL1 regulates chromatin architecture, cooperates with other transcription factors, and coordinates enhancer dynamics. We propose an updated framework for how circadian transcription factors operate within dynamic and multifactorial chromatin landscapes ...
