Endoscopic imaging of quantum gases through a fiber bundle [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We use a coherent fiber bundle to demonstrate the endoscopic absorption imaging of quantum gases. We show that the fiber bundle introduces spurious noise in the picture mainly due to the strong core-to-core coupling.

Balance of saccharolysis and proteolysis underpins improvements in stool quality induced by adding a fiber bundle containing bound polyphenols to either hydrolyzed meat or grain-rich foods

open access: yesGut microbes, 2018
Dietary fiber is a key component in gastrointestinal health maintenance partly due to its fermentation by the gut microbiome. The food-dependent effects of a novel fiber bundle added to hydrolyzed meat (HM) or grain-rich (GR) foods in healthy dogs (n ...

Groupoid Actions on Fractafolds [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We define a bundle over a totally disconnected set such that each fiber is homeomorphic to a fractal blowup. We prove that there is a natural action of a Renault-Deaconu groupoid on our fractafold bundle and that the resulting action groupoid is a ...

A Sensitive and Automatic White Matter Fiber Tracts Model for Longitudinal Analysis of Diffusion Tensor Images in Multiple Sclerosis. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
Diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) is a sensitive tool for the assessment of microstructural alterations in brain white matter (WM). We propose a new processing technique to detect, local and global longitudinal changes of diffusivity metrics, in homologous ...

Parametrized Borsuk-Ulam problem for projective space bundles

open access: yes, 2010
Let $\pi: E \to B$ be a fiber bundle with fiber having the mod 2 cohomology algebra of a real or a complex projective space and let $\pi^{'}: E^{'} \to B$ be vector bundle such that $\mathbb{Z}_2$ acts fiber preserving and freely on $E$ and $E^{'}-0 ...

Computational endoscopy-a framework for improving spatial resolution in fiber bundle imaging.

open access: yesOptics Letters, 2019
This Letter presents a framework for computational imaging (CI) in fiber-bundle-based endoscopy systems. Multiple observations are acquired of objects spatially modulated with different random binary masks.

Modeling the tensile behavior of fiber bundles with irregular constituent fibers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
In this paper, the effect of fiber dimensional irregularities on the tensile behavior of fiber bundles is modeled, using the finite element method (FEM). Fiber dimensional irregularities are simulated with sine waves of different magnitude.

Flexible Mid-IR fiber bundle for thermal imaging of inaccessible areas.

open access: yesOptics Express, 2019
We present a flexible coherent Mid-Infrared (Mid-IR) fiber bundle for thermal imaging made of 1200 Ge30As13Se32Te25 glass cores embedded in a Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene (FEP) polymer cladding.

Failure due to fatigue in fiber bundles and solids [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
We consider first a homogeneous fiber bundle model where all the fibers have got the same stress threshold beyond which all fail simultaneously in absence of noise.

Fiber bundle imaging resolution enhancement using deep learning.

open access: yesOptics Express, 2019
We propose a deep learning based method to estimate high-resolution images from multiple fiber bundle images. Our approach first aligns raw fiber bundle image sequences with a motion estimation neural network and then applies a 3D convolution neural ...
