Glycemic response and fiber content of some foods
The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, 1991The proposed mechanisms for the action of dietary fiber (DF) on the glycemic response suggest a nonlinear relationship between glycemic index (GI) and DF content. This relationship was analyzed by using the newly reported total DF (TDF) values, assuming a nonlinear regression curve. The empirical equation obtained was Y = 19.9X-0.322.

Muscle fiber content of the heart in African cardiomyopathy
American Heart Journal, 1966Abstract Measurements were made, on microscopic sections, of muscle fiber size and number in 19 cases of African cardiomyopathy. These measurements were made at standard left and right ventricular sites away from the apical areas of scarring. The only significant differences from normal controls were a greater total muscle fiber width in the right ...

Collagen: Mobile Water Content of Frozen Fibers
Science, 1970From the change in the nuclear magnetic resonance splitting of heavy water in oriented wet collagen fibers at low temperatures, it is estimated that about 0.6 gram of heavy water per gram of collagen does not freeze. This estimate has been confirmed by a measurement of the heat evolved on melting "frozen" wet collagen.

Corn snack with high fiber content: Effects of different fiber types on the product quality
LWT, 2018Snack food with high fiber content has attracted attention due to various health benefits. In this study, six dietary fiber materials were mixed with corn meal and subsequently co-extruded for snack production.

A Fiber Optic Contention Bus with Bounded Delays
IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications, 1985This paper describes the operation of a new type of fiber optic local area network (LAN) that has most of the advantages of both the contention and token systems. The new system, called PRENET, is basically a contention system; it has no collisions, no message size or cable length limitations, and no stability problems.

The variations of flexural strength and flexural modulus of unsaturated polyester-based sisal/glass hybrid composites with fiber content have been studied. The hybrid composites showed an increase in flexural properties with glass fiber loading. The effects of alkali treatment and silane treatment of fibers on the flexural properties of these sisal ...
