Transgenic Arabidopsis plants over-expressing cotton DELLA or DELLA domain deletion: insights into DELLA gene function

open access: yesBiologia Plantarum, 2013
Gibberellic acid (GA) promotes cotton fiber cell elongation under in vitro culture conditions and GA signal transduction is mediated by DELLA proteins.

Autosomal Recessive Spastic Ataxia of Charlevoix‐Saguenay in Two Half‐Siblings

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Autosomal recessive spastic ataxia of Charlevoix‐Saguenay (ARSACS) is caused by biallelic pathogenic variants in the SACS gene. We report the clinical, radiologic and neurophysiologic features of a pair of half‐siblings who presented with progressive cerebellar ataxia, peripheral neuropathy and upper motor neuron signs.

The Case of a 28‐Year‐Old Woman With Medically Refractory Focal Epilepsy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We present the case of a 28‐year‐old right‐handed woman with medically refractory focal epilepsy. Her seizure semiology and electroencephalography (EEG) indicated a seizure onset zone in the right central‐parietal area. However, both MRI and PET scans were unremarkable, showing no focal lesions or areas of altered metabolism.

Development of fine diameter mullite fiber [PDF]

open access: yes
Results are presented of a program to develop and evaluate mullite fiber with a mean diameter under two microns. The two micron fiber is produced by a blowing process at room temperature from a low viscosity (10-25 poise) solution.

A Genome-Scale Analysis of the PIN Gene Family Reveals Its Functions in Cotton Fiber Development

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2017
The PIN-FORMED (PIN) protein, the most important polar auxin transporter, plays a critical role in the distribution of auxin and controls multiple biological processes. However, characterizations and functions of this gene family have not been identified

Deep Learning–Assisted Differentiation of Four Peripheral Neuropathies Using Corneal Confocal Microscopy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Peripheral neuropathies contribute to patient disability but may be diagnosed late or missed altogether due to late referral, limitation of current diagnostic methods and lack of specialized testing facilities. To address this clinical gap, we developed NeuropathAI, an interpretable deep learning–based multiclass classification ...

The cotton XLIM protein (GhXLIM6) is required for fiber development via maintaining dynamic F-actin cytoskeleton and modulating cellulose biosynthesis.

open access: yesThe Plant Journal, 2018
LIM domain proteins are cysteine-rich proteins, and are often considered as actin bundlers and transcription factors in plants. However, the roles of XLIM proteins in plants (especially in cotton) remain unexplored in detail so far.
