Magnetoactive Hydrogels to Probe Curvature‐Directed Endothelial Cell Mechanosensing

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This work establishes a platform to investigate local curvature as a regulator of endothelial mechanosensing independent of shear stress. Magnetoactive hydrogels enable on‐demand curvature of endothelial monolayers to reproduce tortuosity quantified by clinically established metrics.

Biocompatible Conjugated Electrospinning Nanofibrous Membrane With Self‐Powered Piezoelectric Capacity for Accelerated Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A self‐powered PCL/gelatin‐PVDF‐TrFE/MXene conjugated electrospun membrane integrates biocompatibility with enhanced piezoelectric responsiveness. Mechanical deformation is converted into localized electrical signals that stimulate wound‐repair cells proliferation and migration, promote angiogenesis and tissue remodeling, and accelerate full‐thickness ...

Bragg gratings with directional, efficient, and wavelength-selective fiber outcoupling

open access: yes
Wavelength demultiplexing is a very promising application of photoinduced fiber gratings. In this paper efficient outcoupling of a very narrow wavelength band, in addition to the usual guided Bragg reflection, is presented.
