Processing of Fiber Flax in Oregon

1951
Excerpts: Fiber flax is processed in the United States only in the Willamette Valley of Oregon. Flax plantings there have varied from 18,000 acres in 1942 to about 1,000 acres in 1950. The 1942 crop yielded 2,000 tons of line fiber, which is about a third of the quantity imported each year.
