The fiber with gradually changing diameter was fabricated by changing the draw ratio continuously, that is, by changing the take-up speed of melt spinning, laser drawing, and heater drawing processes.

A numerical–experimental framework is developed for characterizing multi‐matrix fiber‐reinforced polymers (MM‐FRPs) combining epoxy and polyurethane matrices. Harmonic bending tests are integrated with finite element model updating (FEMU) to simultaneously identify elastic and viscoelastic material parameters.

Using Jute Fiber to Improve Fresh and Hardened Properties of Concrete
The brittle nature of concrete sometimes makes it challenging for many critical applications. Research has indicated that including discrete short-length, closely spaced fibers in concrete could improve its ductility and act as a crack arrester.

Thermomechanical fatigue tests of laser beam powder bed fusion (PBF‐LB) Inconel 718 show that the additively manufactured material reaches almost the lifetimes of conventionally‐rolled material under no‐dwell conditions. Introducing dwell times at the maximum temperature markedly reduces the lifetimes due to pronounced grain boundary sliding associated

Single-mode fiber length for wavefront filtering
Stellar nulling interferometry offers the possibility of direct imaging of extrasolar planets necessary for the detection of extra-terrestrial life. Achieving optimum performance from the interferometers requires that the wavefronts of light reaching the

Linewidth and phase noise characteristics of DFB fibre lasers
The anomalous linewidth behavior in a DFB fiber laser is investigated. It is shown that not only does the linewidth deviate drastically from the Schawlow-Townes linewidth formula by increasing with pump and laser power, but it also varies significantly ...

Near‐Field Electrospinning Micro‐Printhead Achieves Precise Control of Nanofiber Deposition
A micro‐printhead for near‐field electrospinning enables reproducible deposition of polymer nanofibers with diameters below 50 nm. Systematic parameter studies uncover the mechanisms linking operating conditions to fiber morphology, paving the way for precise and low‐cost nanoscale 3D manufacturing. As a high‐resolution, cost‐effective, and rapid ...

Miceli. Length of Cellulose Fibers.
