Birefringence distribution along fiber length

Optical Fiber Communications, OFC., 2005
We demonstrate the Birefringent Optical Circuit Synthesis (BOGS) capable of estimating modal coupling and phase-shift distributions along a fiber length. By measuring the Stokes parameters dependence on optical frequency, we can derive the unitary matrix elements as z-polynomials to synthesize the birefringent lattice optical circuit.

Geometric Analysis Based Double Closed-Loop Iterative Learning Control of Output PDF Shaping of Fiber Length Distribution in Refining Process

IEEE transactions on industrial electronics (1982. Print), 2019
In order to improve the pulp quality and to reduce the energy consumption, the fiber length distribution (FLD) is generally employed as one of the important technological indexes in the refining process. Considering that the traditional mean and variance

Study on length distribution of ramie fibers

The Journal of The Textile Institute, 2017
AbstractThe extra-long length of ramie fibers and the high variation in fiber length has a negative impact on the spinning processes. In order to better study the feature of ramie fiber length, in this research, the probability density function of the mixture model applied in the characterization of cotton fiber length was used to fit the ramie fiber ...

Generating Fiber Length Distribution from the Fibrogram

Textile Research Journal, 1996
Theoretical fibrograms were generated from fiber length distributions, and new fiber length distributions were then generated from these theoretical fibrograms for two, three, four, five, and six significant digits using differential and algorithm methods.

Rheology of natural fibers thermoplastic compounds: Flow length and fiber distribution

Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 2013
ABSTRACTThe presented study investigates the flow length and the corresponding fiber content distribution in the injection‐moulded natural fiber reinforced thermoplastics and its relation to fiber type and processing parameters such as injection pressure, temperature, injection rate and mould tempering by increasing die temperature.

Are fiber strength measurements affected by cotton fiber length distribution?

2002
Two experiments were performed to investigate the effect of variations in fiber length distribution on strength measured by different instruments. In these experiments, we assumed that cutting the fibers along their length would not have any effect on the strength measurements.

Fiber length distribution and sheet properties

2010
Although fiber length is one of the most often measured property of paper raw materials, the pure effect of it on paper properties is not usually clear. The reason for that is the difficulty to vary only the fiber length while other properties such as fiber width are kept unchanged.

Direct-Reading Measurement of Fiber Length/Diameter Distributions

1999
A new technique for classifying fibers according to length has opened up opportunities for improving fiber measurement technology. The classification principle is dielectrophoresis, which moves conductive fibers at a velocity proportional to the square of their length.

Vapor grown carbon fibers: Modeling of filament length distributions

Journal of Analytical and Applied Pyrolysis, 1994
Abstract A mechanistic model has been used to predict filament length distributions for vapor grown carbon fibers during the lengthening stage. Optimal values for the two parameters, α and Lt , in this model are obtained by curve-fitting one set of experimental results, giving excellent agreement.
