Multi-Twin-SSB Modulation with Direct Detection Based on Kramers–Kronig Scheme for Long-Reach PON Downstream

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2019
As the demand for high data volumes keeps increasing in optical access networks, transmission capacities and distance are becoming bottlenecks for passive optical networks (PONs). To solve this problem, a novel scheme based on multi-twin single sideband (

Nanoscale Spatial Organization of ARC High‐ and Low‐Order Assemblies at Excitatory Synapses

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ARC (Activity‐Regulated Cytoskeleton‐Associated protein) mediates synaptic plasticity by forming nanoscale assemblies in neurons. Using super‐resolution microscopy and time‐resolved anisotropy with targeted tagging, the study reveals low‐order ARC assemblies at synapses colocalizing with AMPARs, semi‐circular structures at endocytic zones, and 60–80 nm

Reconfigurable, Temperature Resilient Phase‐Change Metasurfaces Fabricated via High Throughput Nanoimprinting Lithography

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The combination of metasurfaces with chalcogenide phase‐change materials is a highly promising route toward the development of multifunctional and reconfigurable nanophotonic devices. However, their transition into real‐world devices is hindered by several technological challenges. This includes, amongst others, the lack of large area photonic

Optical Fiber Communication

open access: yesINTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH IN ENGINEERING AND MANAGEMENT
Abstract– Fiber optic systems are important telecommunication infrastructure for worldwide broadband networks. Wide bandwidth signal transmission with low delay is a key requirement in present day applications. Optical fibers provide enormous and unsurpassed transmission bandwidth with negligible latency, and are now the transmission medium of ...

A Soft Matrix Microenvironment Promotes Laterally Spreading Tumors via Oxidative Phosphorylation‐Dependent Cell Adhesion

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Laterally spreading tumors (LSTs) are precancerous colorectal lesions characterized by a flat morphology. This study reveals a mechanochemical pathway through which a soft matrix microenvironment diminishes spatial constraints in intestinal adenomas. This process promotes deficiencies in tight junction proteins, mediated by the mechanoreceptor ADORA2B ...

Highly Vertically Oriented Graphene Microstrip Pads With Ultrahigh Through‐Plane Thermal Conductivity and Ultralow Compressive Modulus for Efficient Heat Dissipation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Vertically aligned graphene microstrip pads (GMPs) break the traditional thermomechanical trade‐off in thermal interface materials. It simultaneously achieves an ultrahigh through‐plane thermal conductivity of 565.92 W m−1 K−1 and an ultralow compressive modulus below 115.16 kPa.
