On durability of Fiber Reinforced Concrete
2008Costs for maintenance and repair of conventional reinforced concrete (RC) buildings and structures have become a serious economical, ecological and social problem. A large percentage of worldwide infrastructure needs repair measures. This situation motivates great care when developing new construction materials, such as Fiber-Reinforced Concrete (FRC),

To the Question of Fiber Reinforcement of Concrete
Materials Science Forum, 2019The question of adhesion of fibers with a cement matrix is considered. Under certain conditions the fibers connect and hold the places of potential breaks. The important characteristics of fibre fibers are: surface texture, cross-sectional shape and construction in the longitudinal direction of the fiber.

Strength of Fiber-Reinforced Concrete
Journal of the Structural Division, 1972The results of experimental and analytical studies on the characteristics of concrete reinforced with uniformly distributed short wire pieces are presented. The experimental program includes tests on workability, modulus of rupture strength, and compressive strength of 75 batches of concrete; the major variables are water-cement ratio, percentage of ...

Fiber Reinforced Concrete Extrusion
Journal of the Structural Division, 1975Results of tests involving extrusion of fibrous concrete (FRC) indicate the feasibility of the process. Extrusion through a stationary die proves beneficial to the mechanisms governing material behavior. The results of flexure tests are considered for extruded steel and glass fibrous concrete.

Concrete Reinforcement with Recycled Fibers
Journal of Materials in Civil Engineering, 2000Fiber reinforcement can effectively improve the toughness, shrinkage, and durability characteristics of concrete. The use of recycled fibers from industrial or postconsumer waste offers additional advantages of waste reduction and resources conservation. This paper reviews some of the work on concrete reinforcement using recycled fibers, including tire

HYBRID FIBER REINFORCED CONCRETE
2007This paper describes the mechanical performance of hybrid fiber concrete with a maximum fiber dosage of 0.75 Vol.%. Two types of fibers were used: short straight steel fibers and long hooked-end steel fibers. The concrete compressive strength (fc,cub150) varied between 55 and 65 MPa, dependent on the fiber mixture.
