Concrete and Fiber-Reinforced Concrete in a Cage Made of Polymers Reinforced with Fibers
2020Experimental studies have shown that in steel pipes filled with concrete, there is a rather weak coupling between the concrete and the cage. This is due to the significant difference in the Poisson ratio of steel and concrete, which causes the concrete to separate from the pipe when both materials experience longitudinal deformation, as well as the ...

To the Question of Fiber Reinforcement of Concrete
Materials Science Forum, 2019The question of adhesion of fibers with a cement matrix is considered. Under certain conditions the fibers connect and hold the places of potential breaks. The important characteristics of fibre fibers are: surface texture, cross-sectional shape and construction in the longitudinal direction of the fiber.

Strength of Fiber-Reinforced Concrete
Journal of the Structural Division, 1972The results of experimental and analytical studies on the characteristics of concrete reinforced with uniformly distributed short wire pieces are presented. The experimental program includes tests on workability, modulus of rupture strength, and compressive strength of 75 batches of concrete; the major variables are water-cement ratio, percentage of ...

On durability of Fiber Reinforced Concrete
2008Costs for maintenance and repair of conventional reinforced concrete (RC) buildings and structures have become a serious economical, ecological and social problem. A large percentage of worldwide infrastructure needs repair measures. This situation motivates great care when developing new construction materials, such as Fiber-Reinforced Concrete (FRC),

Fiber Reinforced Concrete Extrusion
Journal of the Structural Division, 1975Results of tests involving extrusion of fibrous concrete (FRC) indicate the feasibility of the process. Extrusion through a stationary die proves beneficial to the mechanisms governing material behavior. The results of flexure tests are considered for extruded steel and glass fibrous concrete.

Concrete Reinforcement with Recycled Fibers
Journal of Materials in Civil Engineering, 2000Fiber reinforcement can effectively improve the toughness, shrinkage, and durability characteristics of concrete. The use of recycled fibers from industrial or postconsumer waste offers additional advantages of waste reduction and resources conservation. This paper reviews some of the work on concrete reinforcement using recycled fibers, including tire

Basalt Fiber Reinforced Concrete
Advanced Materials Research, 2011In this paper, mechanical performances of 480 specimens are tested and influences of basalt fiber ratio, slenderness, soakage material are studied. Results indicate that mechanical properties of BFRC are better than plain concrete. It can be found that the best mechanical performance may be get when the basalt fiber soaked by water-solubility material ...

HYBRID FIBER REINFORCED CONCRETE
2007This paper describes the mechanical performance of hybrid fiber concrete with a maximum fiber dosage of 0.75 Vol.%. Two types of fibers were used: short straight steel fibers and long hooked-end steel fibers. The concrete compressive strength (fc,cub150) varied between 55 and 65 MPa, dependent on the fiber mixture.

Principles of Fiber-Reinforced Concrete
2021It is possible to enhance the ability of crack control and inherent brittleness of ordinary concretes by integrating discrete fibers into concretes. Fiber-reinforced concretes are acknowledged as high-performance building materials due to their high levels of toughness under tensile and compressive loads.
