Small Grain Forage Trial Nitrogen Fertility and Harvest Date [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Cool season annual forages, such as cereal grains, can provide early season grazing as well as high quality stored feed. However, it is unclear if quality and yield of these forages could be improved through better fertility management.

High-yield spidroin mimics for bioinspired fibers via computational design

open access: yesFrontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology
The exceptional mechanical properties, biocompatibility, and biodegradability of spider silk make it a promising biomaterial, yet large-scale production remains hindered by challenges in heterologous expression. Existing prokaryotic systems face bottlenecks due to spidroins’ high molecular weight, repetitive sequences, and GC-rich motifs, leading to ...

Evidence of Iron Accumulation in Cerebral Adrenoleukodystrophy: A Potential Novel Disease Mechanism

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In this first application of Quantitative Susceptibility Mapping Source Separation to cerebral adrenoleukodystrophy, we uncovered alterations in iron and myelin within lesions and normal appearing white matter. As validation, we demonstrate abnormal iron accumulation in those same compartments within primary brain tissue.

Fiber Anatomy Structure: a Good Predictor for Fiber Yield and Fiber Quality in Corchorus capsularis

open access: yesInternational Journal of Bio-Resource and Stress Management, 2011
Prediction of fiber yield and quality are essential in jute breeding program. Plant height and basal diameter are moderately reliable indicators of fiber yield in jute, but these characters are not useful to judge fiber quality owing to the large ...

Effects of planting dates and shading on carbohydrate content, yield, and fiber quality in cotton with respect to fruiting positions

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Agriculture, 2018
Two cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) cultivars, Kemian 1 (cool temperature-tolerant) and Sumian 15 (cool temperature-sensitive) were used to study the effects of cool temperature on carbohydrates, yield, and fiber quality in cotton bolls located at ...

The prediction of pulp yield using selected fiber properties

open access: yesHolzforschung, 2005
Abstract The present study is dealing with the question how the major yield-controlling components in pulp (i.e.,hemicelluloses and lignin) alter the behavior and/or properties (e.g., dimensions, flexibility, sugar content) of the fibers.

Normal‐Appearing White Matter Injury Mediates Chronic Deep Venous Hypoxia and Disease Progression in Multiple Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To explore how cerebral hypoxia and Normal‐Appearing White Matter (NAWM) integrity affect MS lesion burden and clinical course. Methods Seventy‐nine MS patients, including 13 clinically isolated syndrome (CIS) patients and 66 relapsing–remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS) patients, and 44 healthy controls (HCs) were recruited from ...
