Study of Clinicoradiological Profile of Patients Undergoing Fiberoptic Bronchoscopy

open access: yes, 2017
Introduction: Bronchoscopy is a procedure to visualize the tracheobronchial tree. There are three types of Bronchoscopy, rigid, flexible, and virtual Bronchoscopy. Rigid bronchoscopy visualizes the proximal airways.

Association of Suspected Aspiration During of Out‐Of‐Hospital Cardiac Arrest With Development of Early‐Onset Pneumonia

open access: yesActa Anaesthesiologica Scandinavica, Volume 70, Issue 6, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Early‐onset pneumonia is a possible complication after out‐of‐hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) resuscitation. Whether or not a suspected aspiration during prehospital care is associated with the development of early‐onset pneumonia has not been studied.

Early fiberoptic bronchoscopy grading predicts outcomes in major burn patients with inhalation injury: a prospective cross-sectional study

open access: yesEgyptian Journal of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery
Background: Inhalation injury is a major determinant of morbidity and mortality in burn patients. Early risk stratification is essential, and fiberoptic bronchoscopy enables direct airway visualization and severity grading. Objective: To evaluate whether

Successful Treatment of Total Lung Collapse Due to Pulmonary Endobronchial Inflammatory Pseudotumor by Bronchoscopy: A Case Report

open access: yesمجله دانشکده پزشکی اصفهان, 2019
Background: Inflammatory pseudotumor is a benign pulmonary tumor of unknown origin which is more common in young adults and children. In this study, successful treatment of total lung collapse using rigid bronchoscopy is reported.

Successful use of snare electrocautery via flexible fiberoptic bronchoscopy for removal of an endobronchial hamartoma causing chronic lung atelectasis and mimicking malignancy

open access: yesTherapeutic Advances in Respiratory Disease, 2017
We present a rare case of giant endobronchial hamartoma coexisting with lung atelectasis for more than 3 years. The small specimen initially biopsied via bronchoscope did not reveal tissue features, but some features were suspicious for squamous cell ...

Recurrent Haemoptysis From Retained Endobronchial Sutures Successfully Managed Using Flexible Endobronchial Scissors

open access: yesRespirology Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 6, June 2026.
We report a rare case of recurrent haemoptysis caused by retained endobronchial polypropylene sutures 14 years after lobectomy. The sutures were safely identified and removed using flexible endobronchial scissors via fibreoptic bronchoscopy, resulting in complete resolution of bleeding.

Opposing Association of Lung Neutrophils and PD‐L1+ Monocytes in Age‐Related Severity of SARS‐CoV‐2 Infection

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 25, Issue 6, June 2026.
Aging skews pulmonary myeloid responses during acute SARS‐CoV‐2 infection toward severe disease. Disease progression is characterized by excessive lung neutrophil accumulation together with impaired activation of classical monocytes, including a defect in PD‐L1 upregulation.
