Characterization of Flexible Copolymer Optical Fibers for Force Sensing Applications
In this paper, different polymer optical fibres for applications in force sensing systems in textile fabrics are reported. The proposed method is based on the deflection of the light in fibre waveguides. Applying a force on the fibre changes the geometry

Effect of Diameter on the Electrical Constants of Frog Skeletal Muscle Fibres
1. Electrical constants were determined on isolated single fibres or on fibres from bundles from frog's twitch muscles by analysing the low frequency cable properties.2. The sarcoplasmic conductivity (Gi) was 5·9 mmho/cm at 20° C, and its temperature coefficient (Q10) was 1·37.3.

The influence of fibre length, diameter and concentration on the modulus of glass fibre reinforced polyamide 6,6 [PDF]
Results of an extensive investigation of the mechanical performance of injection moulded long glass fibre reinforced polyamide 6,6 composites are presented. The glass fibre content in these composites was varied over the range of 10-50% by weight using fibres with average diameters of 10, 14, and 17 μm. Mechanical testing was carried out at 23 and 150 °
