Efficacy of oxidized regenerated cellulose combined with fibrin glue in reducing pulmonary air leakage after segmentectomy in a porcine lung model

open access: yesFrontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology, 2022
Objectives: Pulmonary air leakage is a common complication following lung resection. We have designed a new method combining oxidized regenerated cellulose and fibrin glue to cover the intersegmental plane in clinical lung segmentectomy to prevent ...

Pterygium excision and conjunctival autograft: A comparative study of techniques

open access: yesOman Journal of Ophthalmology, 2018
BACKGROUND: Use of conjunctival autograft following excision has reduced the recurrence rate of primary pterygium. This study compares the use of fibrin glue, autologous blood, and sutures in placing the conjunctival autograft in reference to surgical ...

Endoscopic application of autologous fibrin glue to treat postoperative CSF leak after expanded endonasal approach: Report of two cases

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Neurosurgery, 2018
Since the introduction of endoscopic surgery for the treatment of skull base lesions, one of the main issues has been the CSF leak. The implementation of efficient reconstructive techniques has reduced the post-operative CSF leak rate.

Fibrin Glue in Tympanoplasty.

open access: yesPractica Oto-Rhino-Laryngologica, 1992
Fibrin glue was used in 33 patients for ossicular reconstruction: 20 with tympanoplasty type III and 13 with type IV. It was used as an adhesive between the columella and stapes, with gelatin sponge as a supporting material around them.Fibrin glue makes stabilization of the columella more accurate and firm, and prevents its dislocation.

Fibrin Glue Enhances Adipose-Derived Stromal Cell Cytokine Secretion and Survival Conferring Accelerated Diabetic Wound Healing

open access: yesStem Cells International, 2018
Introduction. Although chronic wounds are a major personal and economic burden, treatment options are still limited. Among those options, adipose-derived stromal cell- (ASC-) based therapies rank as a promising approach but are restricted by the harsh ...

Limbal Allograft Transplantation Using Fibrin Glue [PDF]

open access: yesArchives of Ophthalmology, 2011
Limbal transplantation is now widely accepted as the treatment of advanced limbal stem cell deficiency. Herein, we describe a technique for harvesting thin limbal grafts from cadaveric corneoscleral rims and a sutureless method to secure the grafts to the recipient eye using fibrin glue.
