Use of GnRH Analogues in the Reduction of Submucous Fibroid for Surgical Hysteroscopy: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis [PDF]

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Ginecologia e Obstetrícia
Objective Gonadotropin-releasing hormone analogues (GnRH-a) have been used preoperatively before hysteroscopic myomectomy to decrease the size and vascularization of the myomas, but evidence to support this practice is weak.

A Case Report of Mechanical Intestinal Obstruction Caused by Delayed Heterotopic Ossification of Postoperative Incision

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Heterotopic ossification (HO) refers to the abnormal formation of mature lamellar bone within soft tissues where bone is not typically present, such as muscles, tendons, ligaments, and joint capsules. While commonly associated with trauma, spinal cord injury, or orthopedic procedures, abdominal incisional heterotopic ossification (AIHO) is ...

Hypoxia in Uterine Fibroids: Role in Pathobiology and Therapeutic Opportunities

open access: yesOxygen
Uterine fibroids are the most common tumors in females, affecting up to 70% of women worldwide, yet targeted therapeutic options are limited. Oxidative stress has recently surfaced as a key driver of fibroid pathogenesis and provides insights into ...

Avoiding the Pitfall: Ectopic Pelvic Kidney Mimicking a Pelvic Mass in a Patient With Recurrent Urinary Tract Infections. A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 3, March 2026.
A 55‐year‐old woman with recurrent UTIs and a fixed pelvic mass on examination was intially suspected of having a neoplasm. Contrast‐enhanced CT revealed an ectopic pelvic kidney (yellow arrow, adjacent to uterus U), confirming an asymptomatic congenital anomaly as the cause. Imaging is essential to avoid misdiagnosis and iatrogenic injury.

Overview of Diagnostic Ultrasound Safety

open access: yesJournal of Ultrasound in Medicine, Volume 45, Issue 3, Page 487-496, March 2026.
Ultrasound is widely regarded as a safe imaging modality; however, emerging ultrasound‐based techniques—such as shear wave elastography and contrast‐enhanced ultrasound—operate with varying acoustic output parameters that may approach or exceed traditional diagnostic limits. As these technologies are increasingly integrated into human research studies,

Myogenic Differentiation on 3D‐Printed Interpenetrating Bioactive Hydrogel of Decellularised Human Placenta With Fish Scale Gelatin

open access: yesMedComm – Biomaterials and Applications, Volume 5, Issue 1, March 2026.
Study outlines fabrication of tailorable decellularised human placenta and fish scale gelatin‐based hydrogels. Decellularisation with ultrasonication reduced time and ECM damage. Hydrogels were assessed for structural integrity and cytocompatibility, showing myogenic differentiation with aligned myotubes (C2C12) and myoblasts (HAMSCs).
