Fibrous Hamartoma of Infancy in the Scrotum

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Pediatric Surgery Reports, 2019
Fibrous hamartoma of infancy is a solid benign tumor of the subcutis, which usually occurs within the first 2 years of life. It predominantly occurs in males, and is clinically presented as a solid, painless, well-limited subcutaneous formation, tending ...

Ovarian Sex Cord Stromal Tumors in Children and Adolescents—The European Standard Clinical Practice Recommendations

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT As part of the European Cooperative Study Group for Paediatric Rare Tumours initiative, we developed standard clinical practice guidelines for ovarian sex cord stromal tumors, based on comprehensive national and international cohort analyses, literature review, and a final expert consensus conference.

A Rare Cause of the Rare Condition: Paratesticular Fibrous Pseudotumor

open access: yesJournal of Urological Surgery, 2015
Benign fibrous proliferations of the spermatic cord are uncommon and mostly arise from the paratesticular region. Although benign, they often clinically mimic malignancy and usually remain undiagnosed preoperatively.

Flower buds like PVA/ZnO composite nanofibers assembly: Antibacterial, in vivo wound healing, cytotoxicity and histological studies

open access: yesPolymer Testing, 2021
Poly vinyl alcohol (PVA) nanofibers incorporated with ZnO nanoparticles were successfully fabricated by electrospinning technique. The developed nanofibrous composites were characterized by structural and morphological analysis techniques including X-ray

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Benign fibrous histiocytoma of the bladder

open access: yesIndian Journal of Urology, 2007
Mesenchymal tumors of the bladder are rare with leiomyoma accounting for most of these. We present a rare case of a bladder benign fibrous histiocytoma in a 52-year-old male. He presented with history of straining during micturition since two years.

Wear Behaviour of SAE 4340 Steel in Comparison with Single Test Specimen [PDF]

open access: yesINCAS Bulletin, 2020
This study addresses the progressive damage of a surface/specimen/component caused by another substance in relative motion. This could cause the change in geometry, dimensions of the part which loses the practical functionality.

Residual tail twisting in ascidian larvae is stabilized by asymmetric myofibrils that resist bilateral symmetry restoration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.
