Twelve patients of vitiligo were treated with Kokodumbar (Ficus Hipida) both orally and topically, Fine powder of the fruits of Ficus hispida were administered to the patients in the dosage of 12 grams twice a day alongwith an equal amount of Gur (Jaggery).

This is a chronic condition that needs to be treated for a longer time with possible systemic side effects. Topical herbal formulations are an effective alternative that ensures higher patient compliance without any adverse effects.
