Field-aligned electric currents and their measurement by the incoherent backscatter technique [PDF]
Field aligned electric currents flow in the magnetosphere in many situations of fundamental geophysical interest. It is shown here that the incoherent backscatter technique can be used to measure these currents when the plasma line can be observed.

KLK7, a tissue kallikrein‐related peptidase, is elevated in advanced colorectal cancer and associated with shorter survival. High KLK7 levels in ascites correlate with peritoneal metastasis. In mice, KLK7 overexpression increases metastasis. In vitro, KLK7 enhances cancer cell proliferation, migration, adhesion, and spheroid formation, driving ...

Identifications of the polar cap boundary and the auroral belt in the high altitude magnetosphere: A model for field aligned currents [PDF]
Using the OGO-5 fluxgate magnetometer data, the polar cap boundary is identified in the high altitude magnetosphere by a sudden transition from a dipolar field to a more tail like configuration. The basic pattern of the magnetic field variations observed

Field-Aligned Current Mechanisms of Prominence Destabilization [PDF]
Solar wind is initiated from active solar flare regions. Solar flares start with an active-region prominence: cold dense plasma associated with an arcade of looped magnetic field lines. A prominence can be stable for hours or days but sometimes it takes on a violent evolution: as the magnetic field structure slowly evolves, the loop becomes more and ...

The role of lipid metabolism in neuronal senescence
Disrupted lipid metabolism, through alterations in lipid species or lipid droplet accumulation, can drive neuronal senescence. However, lipid dyshomeostasis can also occur alongside neuronal senescence, further amplifying tissue damage. Delineating how lipid‐induced senescence emerges in neurons and glial cells, and how it contributes to ageing and ...

Visual Recovery Reflects Cortical MeCP2 Sensitivity in Rett Syndrome
ABSTRACT Objective Rett syndrome (RTT) is a devastating neurodevelopmental disorder with developmental regression affecting motor, sensory, and cognitive functions. Sensory disruptions contribute to the complex behavioral and cognitive difficulties and represent an important target for therapeutic interventions.

Field‐Aligned Currents in the Magnetosphere–Ionosphere
Field‐aligned currents play a major role in magnetized plasmas. They are the main agents for coupling the dynamics between magnetosphere and ionosphere. Perturbations of magnetic field distribution, plasma pressure or flow on one end are communicated by field‐aligned currents along the whole flux tube.
