Class IIa HDACs forced degradation allows resensitization of oxaliplatin‐resistant FBXW7‐mutated colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
HDAC4 is degraded by the E3 ligase FBXW7. In colorectal cancer, FBXW7 mutations prevent HDAC4 degradation, leading to oxaliplatin resistance. Forced degradation of HDAC4 using a PROTAC compound restores drug sensitivity by resetting the super‐enhancer landscape, reprogramming the epigenetic state of FBXW7‐mutated cells to resemble oxaliplatin ...

The optimal form of the scanning near-field optical microscopy probe

open access: yes, 2005
A theoretical approach to determine the optimal form of the near-field optical microscope probe is proposed. An analytical expression of the optimal probe form with subwavelength aperture has been obtained.

Molecular characterisation of human penile carcinoma and generation of paired epithelial primary cell lines

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Generation of two normal and tumour (cancerous) paired human cell lines using an established tissue culture technique and their characterisation is described. Cell lines were characterised at cellular, protein, chromosome and gene expression levels and for HPV status.

Cis‐regulatory and long noncoding RNA alterations in breast cancer – current insights, biomarker utility, and the critical need for functional validation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The noncoding region of the genome plays a key role in regulating gene expression, and mutations within these regions are capable of altering it. Researchers have identified multiple functional noncoding mutations associated with increased cancer risk in the genome of breast cancer patients.

Strength through diversity: how cancers thrive when clones cooperate

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumor heterogeneity can offer direct benefits to the tumor through cooperation between different clones. In this review, Kuiken et al. discuss existing evidence for clonal cooperativity to identify overarching principles, and highlight how novel technological developments could address remaining open questions.

Anomalous dimension of the heavy-light quark current in HQET up to four loops

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
The anomalous dimension of the heavy-light quark current in HQET is calculated up to four loops. The N3LL perturbative correction to f B /f D is obtained.

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

N3LO power corrections for 0-jettiness subtractions with fiducial cuts

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We compute the leading logarithmic power corrections at next-to-next-to-next-to-leading order for 0-jettiness subtractions for Drell-Yan and Higgs production in gluon fusion differential in both the invariant mass and rapidity of the color singlet.

The Effect of Mn3+ Substitution on the Electric Field Gradient in a HoFe1−xMnxO3 (x = 0–0.7) System

open access: yesCrystals
The effect of the Mn3+ ion on the local distortions of FeO6 octahedra in orthoferrite samples was investigated. Mössbauer spectroscopy measurements for a series of HoFe1−xMnxO3 (x = 0–0.7) orthoferrite samples with the space group Pnma were carried out ...

Calculating the Electric Field in Nanostructures

open access: yesJournal of Electromagnetic Waves and Applications, 2007
An integral equation approach is presented for the calculation of the local electric field induced in nanostructures embedded in an homogeneous electric field. The equation is solved using simple approximations, which arise from the symmetry of the considered structures, in terms of well known elliptic integrals.
