Amino acids sequence of two different proteins with the same sequence (chameleon sequence—black boxes) represent in 3D structure of the proteins different secondary structures: HHHH—helical and BBB—Beta‐structural. The chains folded in water environment adopt different III‐order structures in which the chameleon fragments appear to adopt similar status

ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.

Matrix metalloproteinase‐9 (MMP9) drives ovarian cancer progression. Using MMP9‐null cells (M9‐KO) created from ovarian cancer cells, we found MMP9 loss did not block Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF)‐driven E‐cadherin dissolution or EMT but delayed and reduced EGF‐driven membrane protrusions. Transient MMP9 re‐expression drove membrane protrusion.

This paper reveals how human lactoferrin–albumin fusion (hLF‐HSA) potently suppresses lung adenocarcinoma cell migration. hLF‐HSA upregulates NHE7, leading to Golgi alkalization, disruption of the Golgi secretome, downregulation of MMP1, and reversal of EMT. These findings suggest a novel Golgi‐targeting strategy to suppress cancer cell migration.

On cubic Galois field extensions
We study Morton's characterization of cubic Galois extensions F/K by a generic polynomial depending on a single parameter s∈K. We show how such an s can be calculated with the coefficients of an arbitrary cubic polynomial over K the roots of which ...

Why human connection is the true metric of research success
Human‐centred mentorship can be shaped by mentor attributes, actions, intrinsic drive and career ambition. Drawing on reflections across Singapore and France, as well as workshop insights from FEBS‐IUBMB ENABLE 2024, this article shows that human‐centred mentorship creates the conditions for sustainable growth, well‐being and retention in research ...

Finite Field Extensions of the p-adic Numbers
When we complete the rational numbers Q with respect to the usual absolute value, we obtain the real numbers R. If we complete Q with respect to the so-called p-adic absolute value, we get a new field, Qp.

Finite Radical Field Extensions and Crossed Homomorphisms
We extend to arbitrary finite radical extensions the results of Barrera-Mora and Velez (J. Algebra162(1993), 295–301) concerning simple radical extensions and we obtain in terms of crossed homomorphisms new characterizations of Kneser extensions andΔ ...
