Possums in the closed field test

Animal Behaviour, 1967
Summary Six brush-tail possums were run through six problems in the Hebb-Williams closed field test, three of which permitted direct visual solution and three of which did not. In comparison with the performance of rats and cats, possums made markedly more errors on both types of problem.

Field applications for the scratching test

2006
Several papers have already been presented in the literature to describe the methodology to assess strength of geomaterials with 'partially-destructive' scratching tests. Experiments on several rock materials have shown that the intrinsic specific energy is well correlated to the strength of the rock.

Field Testing of IAP2015 Charts

The Indian Journal of Pediatrics, 2018
To field test the IAP2015 (Indian Academy of Pediatrics) charts in different socioeconomic classes; to compare standard deviation scores (Z-scores) of children's height, weight and body mass index (BMI) for age as computed based on IAP2007 or WHO charts against the IAP2015 references.A cross-sectional observational study was conducted in the district ...

Field test of volatilization models

Environmental Science and Pollution Research, 1995
Four volatilization models were tested against field data from the Manchester Ship Canal and the River Main. The equations byMACKAY andYEUN, using Schmidt number and wind speed for the calculation of volatilization rate, were found to give the best results for the slowly flowing Ship Canal.

Self-testing of microcontrollers in the field

2010 East-West Design & Test Symposium (EWDTS), 2010
The paper presents our experience with developing tests for microcontroller based embedded systems. We use application specific tests. They are integrated with the implemented application (program) and available on-line error detection mechanisms. The effectiveness of this approach has been analyzed in simulation experiments and referenced to some ...

Onsite Testing for Arsenic: Field Test Kits

2008
The performance of existing field test kits for arsenic has generally been unsatisfactory. Reports of false-negative and false-positive results exceeding 30% are not unusual, although more recent techniques appear to be more reliable. However, studies using these recent techniques had only to meet the local water standard of 50 microg/L. If the new WHO

Visualizing the Results of Field Testing

2010 IEEE 18th International Conference on Program Comprehension, 2010
Field testing of software is necessary to find potential user problems before market deployment. The large number of users involved in field testing along with the variety of problems reported by them increases the complexity of managing the field testing process.

A Field Test of the Sweat Patch

Alcoholism: Clinical and Experimental Research, 1984
The sweat patch is a new, noninvasive method designed to estimate the ethanol consumption of drinking subjects. It consists of salt‐impregnated absorbent pads protected by a plastic chamber with attached water‐tight adhesive. The patch reportedly collects trans‐epidermal fluid at a steady rate for up to 10 days. Recent laboratory research has indicated

Field test of a CDMA system

Proceedings of IEEE Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC), 2002
Field tests of a CDMA based mobile radio system was conducted jointly by DeTeMobil and QUALCOMM, INC. In Munster, Germany. Tests were conducted in the 1.7 GHz frequency band, under a variety of conditions, including different terrains and vehicle speeds, as well as in both single cell and hand-off coverages.
