Intermolecular Interactions as Driving Force of Increasing Multiphoton Absorption in a Perylene Diimide‐Based Coordination Polymer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study uncovers the unexplored role of intermolecular interactions in multiphoton absorption in coordination polymers. By analyzing [Zn2tpda(DMA)2(DMF)0.3], it shows how the electronic coupling of the chromophores and confinement in the MOF enhance two‐and three‐photon absorption.

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

Optimal Searching-Based Reference Current Computation Algorithm for IPMSM Drives Considering Iron Loss

open access: yesActuators
Interior permanent magnet synchronous machines (IPMSMs) are widely used as traction motors in the electric drive-train because of their high torque-per-ampere characteristics and potential for wide field weakening operation to expand the constant power ...

Impact of harmonic voltage distortion on the voltage sag behavior of adjustable speed drives [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The behavior of adjustable speed drives under voltage sag conditions and supplied form non-sinusoidal voltage waveforms has received little attention in recent years.

Kinetic simulations of turbulent magnetic-field growth by streaming cosmic rays

open access: yes, 2009
Efficient acceleration of cosmic rays (via the mechanism of diffusive shock acceleration) requires turbulent, amplified magnetic fields in the shock's upstream region. We present results of multidimensional particle-in-cell simulations aimed at observing

Biomass Native Structure Into Functional Carbon‐Based Catalysts for Fenton‐Like Reactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study indicates that eight biomasses with 2D flaky and 1D acicular structures influence surface O types, morphology, defects, N doping, sp2 C, and Co nanoparticles loading in three series of carbon, N‐doped carbon, and cobalt/graphitic carbon. This work identifies how these structural factors impact catalytic pathways, enhancing selective electron

Magnetic Field Induced Insulating Phases at Large $r_s$

open access: yes, 2004
Exploring a backgated low density two-dimensional hole sample in the large $r_s$ regime we found a surprisingly rich phase diagram. At the highest densities, beside the $\nu=1/3$, 2/3, and 2/5 fractional quantum Hall states, we observe both of the ...

Modulating Electrochemical CO2 Reduction Pathways via Interfacial Electric Field

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Engineering interfacial electric fields in Cu/ITO electrodes enables precise control of CO2 reduction pathways. Charge transfer from Cu to ITO generates positively charged Cu species that steer selectivity from ethylene toward methane. This work demonstrates how interfacial electric‐field modulation can direct reaction intermediates and transform ...
