Sextic spline collocation methods for nonlinear fifth-order boundary value problems
International Journal of Computer Mathematics, 2011In this paper, two sextic-spline collocation methods are developed and analysed for approximating solutions of nonlinear fifth-order boundary-value problems. The first method uses a spline interpolant and the second one is based on a spline quasi-interpolant, which are constructed from sextic splines. They are both proved to be second-order convergent.

Approach to a Fifth-Order Boundary Value Problem, via Sperner's Lemma
We consider the five-point boundary value problem for a fifth-order differential equation, where the nonlinearity is superlinear at both the origin and +infinity. Our method of proof combines the Kneser’s theorem with the well-known from combinatorial topology Sperner’s lemma.

Regular Fifth-Order Boundary Value Problems
Bulletin of the Malaysian Mathematical Sciences Society, 2019The author investigates regular fifth-order boundary value problems. The continuity properties of the eigenvalues of these problems on some data are studied. The author proves that the eigenvalues of the problems generated by the fifth-order differential equation with some separated, real-coupled and complex-coupled boundary conditions are discrete ...

Sinc and the numerical solution of fifth-order boundary value problems
Applied Mathematics and Computation, 2007The present paper deals with numerical methods for fifth-order two-point boundary value problems on the unit interval. Problems of that type arise from modelling viscoelastic flows. The author introduces the new class of sinc-Galerkin methods, a special variant of spectral Galerkin schemes, to solve the boundary value problem.
