The past, present, and future of wheat dwarf virus management : a review [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
Wheat dwarf disease (WDD) is an important disease of monocotyledonous species, including economically important cereals. The causative pathogen, wheat dwarf virus (WDV), is persistently transmitted mainly by the leafhopper Psammotettix alienus and can ...

Rice black‐streaked dwarf virus‐encoded P6 protein impairs OsPelota‐mediated antiviral RNA decay defense via promoting OsSCE1b ubiquitination and degradation in rice

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Plant Biology, Volume 67, Issue 10, Page 2760-2777, October 2025.
The P6 protein encoded by rice black‐streaked dwarf virus enhances degradation of the rice SUMO E2 conjugating enzyme OsSCE1b through the ubiquitin/26S proteasome pathway; OsSCE1b degradation results in decreased SUMOylation of OsPelota, thereby suppressing RNA decay‐dependent antiviral defenses in rice. ABSTRACT Rice black‐streaked dwarf virus (RBSDV)

JA‐responsive R2R3‐type MYB transcription factor OsMYB4P confers broad‐spectrum antiviral immunity in rice

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, Volume 23, Issue 10, Page 4602-4617, October 2025.
Summary Jasmonic acid (JA) plays a critical role in antiviral defence in rice, where viral infection activates JA signalling by degrading Jasmonate ZIM domain (JAZ) proteins, thereby releasing transcription factors (TFs) to drive JA‐mediated defence gene expression. While the JA‐responsive TF OsMYC2 has been extensively studied in rice, the involvement

The Prevalence And The Molecular Patterns Of Rotaviruses In Calves [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
A study was conducted to determine the prevalence of rota virus in calves in Malaysia. A total of 977 faecal specimens were collected over a four-month period from calves starting from 48 hours. The faeces were collected from diarrhoeic as well as non-

Development of an Insect Vector Cell Culture and RNA Interference System To Investigate the Functional Role of Fijivirus Replication Protein [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Virology, 2012
ABSTRACT An in vitro culture system of primary cells from white-backed planthopper, an insect vector of Southern rice black-streaked dwarf virus (SRBSDV), a fijivirus, was established to study replication of the virus.

Occurrence and integrated control of major rice diseases in China

open access: yesNew Plant Protection, Volume 2, Issue 2, June 2025.
Rice is constantly under threat from a variety of pathogens. This review highlights the major diseases affecting rice in China, including three fungal diseases, two bacterial diseases, two viral diseases, and one nematode. The review also proposes future directions for an integrated approach to control these significant rice diseases.
