Factors Affecting the Rheology and Processability of Highly Filled Suspensions
Annual Review of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, 2014Suspensions filled with rigid particles at volume-loading levels that approach their maximum packing fraction are widely encountered, especially in the energetics, ceramics, pharmaceutical, magnetics, composites, food, and personal care industries. Highly filled suspensions, regardless of industrial application, exhibit a number of common rheological ...

A New High-Filling-Factor CMOS-Compatible Thermopile
IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 2007To reach a high fill factor, a new CMOS-compatible thermopile was designed and fabricated. The floating membrane of the thermopile that we designed was formed by a T-shape anisotropic etching window with a minimum etching area. The design and fabrication of thermopile sensors are realized by using 1.2-mum CMOS IC technology combined with a subsequent ...

A matrix transform imager allowing high-fill factor
2002 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems. Proceedings (Cat. No.02CH37353), 2003We present a transform imager that performs computation at the pixel plane, but still holds to a fill factor greater than 40 percent. This imager is capable of programmable matrix operations on the image, where we can represent the image as either a full matrix or using block matrix operations.

The Filling Factor of Shielded Dielectric Resonators
IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 1969The use of dielectric resonators at microwave frequencies usually requires a shield to prevent loss of energy by radiation, and a coupling network. The efficiency of a given circuit depends on the filling factor, which expresses the circuit ability to store most of the input energy in the resonator, and little in the coupling network and surrounding ...
