Postconstruction Deformation Characteristics of High-Fill Foundations of Kunming Changshui International Airport Using Time-Series InSAR Technology

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing
The Kunming Changshui International Airport was built on complex mountainous terrain with significant fluctuations in Southwest China. The site contains large areas of high fill susceptible to uneven ground deformation from filling material consolidation,

Sources of Variations Between The Inflation Rates of Korea, Thailand and Indonesia During The Post-1997 Crisis [PDF]

open access: yes
Despite the large number of studies done on the recent East Asian crisis, hardly any of them has however simultaneously evaluated the roots of the inflationary pressures and unearthed the sources of sharp variations between the inflation rates of the ...

Trace Nickel Activated Biphasic Core‐CuOii/Shell‐CuOi Secondary Microspheres Enable Room Temperature Parts‐Per‐Trillion‐Level NO2 Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An idea of designing novel sensors is proposed by creating appropriate Schottky barriers and vacancies between isomorphous Core‐CuOii/ Shell‐CuOi secondary microspheres and enhancing catalytic and spill‐over effects, and electronegativity via spontaneous biphasic separation, self‐assembly, and trace‐Ni‐doping.

What Do Large Language Models Know About Materials?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
If large language models (LLMs) are to be used inside the material discovery and engineering process, they must be benchmarked for the accurateness of intrinsic material knowledge. The current work introduces 1) a reasoning process through the processing–structure–property–performance chain and 2) a tool for benchmarking knowledge of LLMs concerning ...

Rheocasting versus Die Casting: An Insight into the Low‐Cycle Fatigue Behavior of AlSi7Mg0.6

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The study compares rheocast lightweight components with high‐pressure die cast materials regarding microstructure and fatigue behavior. Rheocast process offers higher efficiency due to lower casting temperatures. Despite some microstructural differences, both processes show similar strengths (yield strength 125 MPa, tensile strength 240 MPa).
