Poisson's ratio of hollow particle filled composites
Materials Letters, 2010The present study is focused on the experimental measurement of the Poisson's ratio of glass hollow particle filled composites called syntactic foams. The effect of hollow particle wall thickness and volume fraction on the Poisson's ratio of the composites is investigated.

Iron filled carbon nanotubes have been widely used for numerous applications due to their remarkable magnetic and structural properties. One very important example is the biomedical application, where iron filled multiwalled carbon nanotubes (Fe-MWCNT) can be used in anticancer therapies, acting as local nano-heaters, at the cellular level.

Extreme Bottom-up Gold Filling of High Aspect Ratio Features
Accounts of Chemical Research, 2023ConspectusWhere copper interconnects fabricated using superconformal electrodeposition processes have enabled dramatic advances in microelectronics over the past quarter century, gold filled gratings fabricated using superconformal Bi3+-mediated bottom-up filling electrodeposition processes promise to enable a new generation of X-ray imaging and ...

Optimization of Hydrogen Utilization Ratio in Hydrogen Filling Stations
Volume 1: Codes and Standards, 2008High pressure hydrogen storage is widely used in hydrogen filling stations and fuel cell automobiles. Currently, single filling is the main method for hydrogen transfer from stationary storage tanks to cylinders of fuel cell automobiles. Along with the wide application of hydrogen the multistage filling will be adopted in hydrogen filling stations due ...

Copper filling by electroplating for high aspect ratio TSV
2013 14th International Conference on Electronic Packaging Technology, 20133D IC integration based on through silicon vias (TSVs) is expected to provide an alternative technology that can exceed the Moore' Law because of its high packaging density, short signal path, low signal delays. Via filling of conductive materials is regarded as one of the key technologies in the TSV process flow.

Abstract Reducing the filling content of high-density ferromagnetic particles is a key prerequisite for obtaining lightweight absorbers. To this end, large iron nanowires (Fe NWs) with high length-diameters, uniform length of approximately 21 μ m and diameters of ...

The American Journal of Cardiology, 1978
Apexcardiograms were performed in 68 consecutive patients who had either normal findings or coronary artery disease on cardiac catheterization. The height of the a wave in relation to the total apexcardiographic deflection (a/H) and the duration of both the rapid (RFW) and the slow (SFW) filling periods were determined in each case.

Volume 3: Materials Technology; Subsea Technology
Abstract Fiter units (sometimes called rock bags) are a very popular solution to improve the stability of subsea cables and cable protection systems (CPS) in the offshore wind industry. They are easily filled quay-side from local rock quarries and installed from vessels that are already mobilized as part of a windfarm construction spread.

A particle packing method for non-uniform sizes and prescribed filling ratio
Engineering with Computers, 2020This work presents a particle packing method based on a distance minimization procedure with non-uniform sizes and prescribed filling ratio. In the study of engineering problems involving granular systems, like those that employ numerical tools such as the discrete element method, an important modeling task is to produce the initial geometric ...

Filling of microvia with an aspect ratio of 5 by copper electrodeposition
Electrochimica Acta, 2009Abstract The filling of microvias with a diameter of 5 μm and a depth of 25 μm (aspect ratio of 5) by copper electroplating was investigated. Filling experiments were evaluated by analyzing cross-sections of filled vias with scanning electron microscopy and focused ion beam.
