Application of a Portable Colorimeter for Reading a Radiochromic Film for On-Site Dosimetry

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2023
Radiochromic films have widely been used for quality assurance (QA) in radiation therapy and have many advantageous features such as self-developing visible coloration, wide dose range and easiness to handle.

Model selection for radiochromic film dosimetry [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics in Medicine and Biology, 2015
The purpose of this study was to find the most accurate model for radiochromic film dosimetry by comparing different channel independent perturbation models. A model selection approach based on (algorithmic) information theory was followed, and the results were validated using gamma-index analysis on a set of benchmark test cases.

Effect of scanner lens on lateral response artefact in radiochromic film dosimetry. [PDF]

open access: yesPhys Eng Sci Med, 2022
Radiochromic film is a good dosimeter choice for patient QA for complex treatment techniques because of its near tissue equivalency, high spatial resolution and established method of use.

Improved Ultraviolet Radiation Film Dosimetry Using OrthoChromic OC-1 Film. [PDF]

open access: yesPhotochem Photobiol, 2021
There is growing interest in far‐UVC lighting, defined as wavelengths from 200 to 230 nm, because research has demonstrated these wavelengths to be an effective antimicrobial technology while posing a minimal hazard to human health.

Dose- rather than fluence-averaged LET should be used as a single-parameter descriptor of proton beam quality for radiochromic film dosimetry. [PDF]

open access: yesMed Phys, 2020
Purpose The dose response of Gafchromic EBT3 films exposed to proton beams depends on the dose, and additionally on the beam quality, which is often quantified with the linear energy transfer (LET) and, hence, also referred to as LET quenching ...

Experimental validation of Monte Carlo dosimetry for therapeutic beta emitters with radiochromic film in a 3D‐printed phantom [PDF]

open access: hybridMedical Physics (Lancaster), 2022
Purpose Validation of dosimetry software, such as Monte Carlo (MC) radiation transport codes used for patient‐specific absorbed dose estimation, is critical prior to their use in clinical decision making.

Three-dimensional high dose rate dosimetry of pulsed electron beams: The combined radiochromic film and calorimetric measurments [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Technology and Radiation Protection, 2004
We present an evaluation of the precision and accuracy of image-based radiochromic film dosimetry. A stack of radiochromic film FWT-60 was used to map a radiation field produced by an electron pulse from a Febetron 707 accelerator (dose rate around 5 ...
