Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Calculation method for equivalent model of AC filters in HVDC transmission system

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
AC filter is an important part of HVDC system, which can restrain the AC-side harmonics effectively and compensate for the reactive power consumed by converter station.

Retinal vessel segmentation using Gabor Filter and Textons [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
This paper presents a retinal vessel segmentation method that is inspired by the human visual system and uses a Gabor filter bank. Machine learning is used to optimize the filter parameters for retinal vessel extraction.

Real-Time Impulse Noise Suppression from Images Using an Efficient Weighted-Average Filtering

open access: yes, 2014
In this paper, we propose a method for real-time high density impulse noise suppression from images. In our method, we first apply an impulse detector to identify the corrupted pixels and then employ an innovative weighted-average filter to restore them.

AAA+ protein unfoldases—the Moirai of the proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
AAA+ unfoldases are essential molecular motors that power protein degradation and disaggregation. This review integrates recent cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) structures and single‐molecule biophysical data to reconcile competing models of substrate translocation.

An adaptive dynamically weighted median filter for impulse noise removal

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2017
A new impulsive noise removal filter, adaptive dynamically weighted median filter (ADWMF), is proposed. A popular method for removing impulsive noise is a median filter whereas the weighted median filter and center weighted median filter were also ...

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

Penapisan Derau Gaussian, Speckle dan Salt&Pepper Pada Citra Warna

open access: yesIJCCS (Indonesian Journal of Computing and Cybernetics Systems), 2011
Quality of digital image can decrease becouse some noises. Noise can come from lower quality of image recorder, disturb when transmission data process and weather. Noise filtering can make image better becouse will filtering that noise from the image and

Automatic calcium scoring in low-dose chest CT using deep neural networks with dilated convolutions

open access: yes, 2018
Heavy smokers undergoing screening with low-dose chest CT are affected by cardiovascular disease as much as by lung cancer. Low-dose chest CT scans acquired in screening enable quantification of atherosclerotic calcifications and thus enable ...
