PBW filtration and bases for symplectic Lie algebras

open access: yes, 2010
We study the PBW filtration on the highest weight representations $V(\la)$ of $\msp_{2n}$. This filtration is induced by the standard degree filtration on $U(\n^-)$.

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Comparative Analysis of Anion Exchange Membrane Adsorbers for Endotoxin Removal During Ultrafiltration and Diafiltration Buffer Preparation

open access: yesEngineering in Life Sciences
During the manufacturing of drug substances (DS), endotoxins are a commonly monitored contaminant and checked to ensure the safety and quality of the final product.

Effect of Intermetallic Compound Deposits on Wear Resistance and Microhardness on AISI 1020 Steel Substrate Using GTAW Process

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
Enhancing the oxidation resistance along with sufficiently improved mechanical properties of low carbon steel has always been a challenging task for surfacing industry.

Inhibiting stearoyl‐CoA desaturase suppresses bone metastatic prostate cancer by modulating cellular stress, mTOR signaling, and DNA damage response

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bone metastasis in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is a clinical hurdle due to the poor understanding of the supportive bone microenvironment. Here, we identify stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD) as a tumor‐promoting enzyme and potential therapeutic target in bone metastatic PCa.

Critical bursts in filtration

open access: yes, 2017
Particle detachment bursts during the flow of suspensions through porous media are a phenomenon that can severely affect the efficiency of deep bed filters.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Wastewater Treatment Hybrid Process Using Coagulation-Membrane Filtration for Industrial Purposes [PDF]

open access: yesشیمی کاربردی روز
Urban wastewater is characterized by microbial contamination and a substantial quantity of suspended solids. Many existing municipal treatment facilities are unable to adequately process these wastewaters, resulting in only partial removal of pollutants.

On ramification theory in the imperfect residue field case

open access: yes, 2002
We consider the class of complete discretely valued fields such that the residue field is of prime characteristic p and the cardinality of a $p$-base is 1. This class includes two-dimensional local and local-global fields.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.
