Mathematical modeling of the magnetic filtration processes

International Journal of Applied Electromagnetics and Mechanics, 2003
A mathematical model is proposed for the determination of non-stationary characteristics of the cleaning process of industrial liquids in magnetic filters. The theoretical investigation which provides the determination of the variation of the captured particles both with time and along the filter matrix is based on the general filtration equations ...

Deep Bed Filtration: Mathematical Models and Observations

Critical Reviews in Environmental Science and Technology, 2005
Numerous mathematical models have been developed to evaluate both initial and transient stage removal efficiency of deep bed filters. Microscopic models either using trajectory analysis or convective diffusion equations were used to compute the initial removal efficiency.

Hydrodynamic instability of counterflow filtration combustion: Mathematical modeling

International Journal of Self-Propagating High-Temperature Synthesis, 2015
A 2D model of counterflow filtration combustion in a slit-like reactor was suggested. The gas permeability of product is assumed to be higher than that of fuel powder. The initially planar front of filtration combustion was found to lose its planarity and acquire the shape of finger(s).

Mathematical Simulation for Membrane Filtration Systems

Separation Science and Technology, 1979
Abstract Time variation in filtration systems variables, e.g., concentrations, volume, and permeation rate, is mathematically simulated. Rigorous mathematical solutions are illustrated for a physical model with stepwise approximation. A detailed setup for numerical calculations is given.

DEVELOPMENT OF A MATHEMATICAL MODEL OF LIVER FILTRATION

Optimization of Direct Filtration: Experiments and Mathematical Models

Environmental Technology, 1995
A laboratory-scale set-up consisting of helicoidal flocculator and rapid sand filter was used to study the implication of flocs in direct filtration for optimizing the design parameters. Two different methods, one using a flocculation and filtration mathematical model and other using Ives' filterability number were used to optimize the direct ...
