Copper Single‐Atom Decorated Microfibrous Catalysts for Continuous‐Flow Reduction of Nitroarenes
Herein, a Cu‐single‐atom decorated, microfibrous catalyst (Cu1/CMF) is fabricated for chemoselective reduction of nitroarenes, demonstrating a superior processing capacity of 1.92 mmol mgcat−1 h−1 and superior durability (≥ 25 cycles) in a continuous‐flow manner.

Dealing with financial fragility in transition economies [PDF]
We examine the efforts of transition economies to deal with financial fragility and resolve banking cries We characterize the birthing process of banking in transition and the three essential features of banking crises in transition economies: (i) bad ...

The ultrahard teeth of mollusks that feed on rocky substrates contain a wear‐resistant coating on their surfaces consisting of densely packed mesocrystalline magnetic nanoparticles within an organic matrix. These coatings display significant hardness and toughness through their highly controlled mesocrystalline architectures.

Circular photogalvanic effect measurements and first‐principles calculations reveal spin‐splitting states in solution‐processed bournonite films (CuPbSbS3) due to structural and bulk inversion asymmetry. The results provide experimental confirmation of coexisting Rashba and Dresselhaus spin‐splitting states in this non‐centrosymmetric chalcogenide ...

Inspired by the skin‐toughening mechanism of marine sponges, an ion‐orchestrated structural engineering strategy is proposed to regulate the surface microstructure of hydrogel coatings, enabling the in situ formation of a robust armor layer that enhances mechanical integrity and provides multifunctional protection by suppressing fouling attachment and ...

Financial Fragility and Economic Performance [PDF]
Applied macroeconomists (e.g., Eckstein and Sinai (1986)) have stressed the role of financial variables, such as firm balance sheet positions, in the determination of investment spending and output. Our paper presents a formal analysis of this link.

Proteins, Processing, and Properties of Adhesive Fluid Condensates Purified from Mussels
Mussels exhibit an unmatched proficiency for adhering to wet surfaces in salty environments—a remarkable ability that could inspire new biomedical and technical glues. The fluid protein condensates used to form the underwater mussel glue are extracted, reconstituted and characterized with advanced spectroscopy and nanomechanical analysis, revealing ...

Explaining Bank Failures in Brazil: Micro, Macro and Contagion Effects (1994-1998) [PDF]
We apply duration (survival) models with exponential hazard and exponential piecewise-constant hazard functions to study the determinants of bank failure over the period 1994 to 1998 in Brazil. The models deal empirically with left censoring in the data.
