Surfaceome Reprogramming of Stemsomes Promotes Lung Cancer Targeting via Potentiated Receptor–Ligand Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a surfaceome‐reprogramming strategy for mutation‐independent lung cancer therapy by repurposing dexamethasone to prime mesenchymal stem cell‐derived nanovesicles. The engineered vesicles leverage multi‐valent interactions mediated by upregulated adhesion proteins, EPHA2, and NOTCH3.

Polarization Dynamics in Ferroelectrics: Insights Enabled by Machine Learning Molecular Dynamics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Machine learning molecular dynamics is presented as a route to capture polarization switching, domain wall kinetics, topological polar textures, and polar mechanical coupling beyond the limits of conventional atomistic methods. This Perspective surveys recent progress and identifies key methodological directions, including long‐range electrostatics ...

Financial imbalances and financial fragility [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper develops a general equilibrium model to analyze the link between financial imbalances and financial crises. The model features an interbank market subject to frictions and where two equilibria may (co-)exist.

Chemically Gradient Ordered Nanodomains Enable Large Tensile Ductility in Gigapascal Lightweight Refractory High‐Entropy Alloys

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A high‐strength lightweight refractory high‐entropy alloy achieves extraordinary ductility owing to the introduction of coherent chemically gradient ordered nanodomains (CGONs). The CGONs not only serve as effective barriers to dislocation motion (strengthening) but also significantly promote dislocation nucleation and multiplication (ductilizing) upon

The Impact of Financial Market Frictions on Trade Flows, Capital Flows and Economic Development [PDF]

open access: yes
We introduce financial frictions in a two sector model of international trade with heterogeneous agents. The level of specialization in the economy (economic development) depends on the quality of financial institutions.

Lightweight, Elastic Ceramic Fabrics for Broadband Electromagnetic Absorption and High Temperature Thermal Insulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reports lightweight, elastic ceramic fabrics with broadband electromagnetic absorption (EAB = 9.8 GHz) and high‐temperature thermal insulation, enabled by precise microstructural control during ultrafast high‐temperature sintering (UHS), which induces the precipitation of defect‐rich t‐ZrO2 nanograins and turbostratic C nanoclusters.

Financial Frictions

open access: yes, 2016
A call option on a stock is a common and widely used derivative. On an average trading day in 2015, more than 800,000 such options traded on the Chicago Board Options Exchange, the largest options exchange in the United States. Each option grants its owner the right to buy 100 of a specific stock at a pre-specified price, no later than a pre-specified ...

Intermediation costs, investor protection and economic development [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper studies the effect of financial repression and contract enforcement on entrepreneurship and economic development. We construct and solve a general equilibrium model with heterogeneous agents, occupational choice and two financial frictions ...

Structural Colors from Modulated Topological Defects in Molecular Smectic Liquid Crystals

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Rather than using dyes and pigments, nature produces the colors of some butterflies and beetles through optical interference phenomena. This study describes an original biomimetic strategy exploiting the spontaneous formation of modulated linear defects in thin films of 8CB, a common molecular liquid crystal.

The external finance premium in the euro area A useful indicator for monetary policy? [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper I estimate a New Keynesian Dynamic Stochastic General Equilibrium model for the Euro Area, which closely follows the structure of the model developed by Smets and Wouters (2003, 2005, 2007), with the addition of the so-called financial ...
