Intramolecular Nickel‐Catalyzed Reductive Coupling: Enantioselective Synthesis of Tetrahydroisoquinolines and Related Heterocycles

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
The successful extension of the nickel‐catalyzed asymmetric coupling of polarized 1,3‐dienes with aldehydes to an intramolecular setting opens an efficient new entry into hydroxylated N‐heterocyclic compounds, most notably valuable tetrahydroisoquinolines.

Extending Battery Usage Time of a Heavy‐Duty Mecanum‐Wheeled Autonomous Electric Vehicle Used in Iron–Steel Industry by Considering Wheel Slippage

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2025.
It is a fact that slippage causes tracking errors in both longitudinal and lateral directions which results to have less travel distance in tracking a reference trajectory. Less travel distance means having energy loss of the battery and carrying loads less than planned.

Photometallobiocatalytic Asymmetric Radical‐Mediated Cross‐Coupling of Organotrifluoroborate Salts and Pyridotriazoles

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
An enantioselective photometallobiocatalytic cross‐coupling of pyridotriazoles and secondary alkyltrifluoroborate salts is developed. Cooperative catalysis using eosin B and an engineered protoglobin combines visible‐light‐mediated radical generation with enzymatic metal carbenoid activation, affording valuable N‐heterocyclic products in excellent ...

Financial Frictions, Product Quality, and International Trade

open access: yes, 2015
An influential literature shows that product quality varies widely across countries and industries. In this paper, we propose and test an explanation that rests on the interplay between cross-country differences in financial frictions and cross-industry ...

How cold is too cold? A theoretical analysis of the optimal trigger for index insurance for frost damage to crops

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Agricultural Economics, EarlyView.
Abstract Crop insurance is undoubtedly an extremely valuable element in protecting agricultural businesses, but in many cases standard indemnity‐based products have had very low uptake due to high transaction costs elevating premiums to unaffordable levels.

The psychosocial toll of Dublin III on asylum seekers in the Netherlands

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Community Psychology, EarlyView.
Abstract The Dublin III Regulation determines which EU Member State is responsible for examining asylum claims, but its implementation carries significant consequences for those subjected to it. This study examines how Dublin III, as implemented in the Netherlands, affects asylum seekers' psychosocial wellbeing using Silove′s Adaptation and Development
