Nonhuman Mobilities and Multispecies Border Regimes in (Post‐)Colonial Southern Africa**

open access: yesBerichte zur Wissenschaftsgeschichte, EarlyView.
This article explores how borders in Southern Africa—such as Namibia's internal veterinary and settler border (Red Line) and national borders between Namibia, South Africa, and Botswana—functioned not only as territorial dividers but as tools to shape colonial and postcolonial multispecies hierarchies. These borders regulated human and animal movement,

Comparative Analysis of Bioreactor Design and Scale‐Up for Cultivated Meat Using Monte Carlo‐Based Timescale Modeling

open access: yesBiotechnology and Bioengineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Cultivated meat offers a sustainable alternative to conventional livestock production but faces significant scale‐up challenges, particularly in bioreactor design for mammalian cell suspension cultures. This study presents a comparative analysis of stirred tank reactors (STR), bubble columns (BC), and airlift reactors (ALR) to assess their ...

A General Workflow for Tangential Flow Filtration Perfusion Scale‐Up

open access: yesBiotechnology and Bioengineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Tangential flow filtration (TFF) perfusion using hollow‐fiber modules offers substantial advantages over other mammalian cell retention technologies. Recently, increased awareness of Starling flow has helped to enhance filtration performance to similar, or even higher levels compared to alternative technologies.

Compliant hydrogel cuff coating with real‐time pressure monitoring and antibiofilm capabilities for ventilator‐associated pneumonia prophylaxis

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
A soft‐compliant hydrogel cuff coating combines real‐time pressure monitoring with intrinsic antibacterial activity for prophylaxis of ventilator‐associated pneumonia. A flexible pressure‐sensing patch is embedded in the coating to enable wireless dynamic monitoring of endotracheal cuff pressure through Bluetooth.

A global meta‐analysis of non‐lethal mammal browsing control in forests

open access: yesBiological Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Increasing resource demand, desire to sequester atmospheric carbon, and conservation goals are driving a need for forests to be managed more effectively in the face of numerous challenges. One such challenge is damage perpetrated by browsing mammals, which can cause substantial financial and ecological impacts.
