Clinical Validation of Artificial Intelligence (AI)‐based Cartilage Segmentation Predicting Knee Replacement

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objective For cartilage morphology to serve as a scalable endpoint in clinical trials, analyses should be performed automatically without human interaction. To clinically validate artificial intelligence (AI)‐based analysis, we studied cartilage loss from MRI prior to knee replacement.

Facial Cosmetic Therapy Use Among Patients With Systemic Sclerosis: An Australian Cohort Study

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Systemic sclerosis (SSc) is associated with numerous facial manifestations for which patients may engage in cosmetic therapies. It is unclear how patients with SSc use these therapies. This study sought to characterize patient engagement and experiences with cosmetic therapies for SSc‐related and non‐SSc–related facial changes.

Prevalence of Dietary Supplement Use and Potential Medication Interactions Among Adults with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objective To characterize the prevalence and correlates of dietary supplement use, identify commonly used supplements, and evaluate potential supplement–medication interactions among adults with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Methods We analyzed cross‐sectional data from 451 adults in the Approaches to Positive, Patient‐centered Experiences of ...

A Scoping Review and Meta‐Analysis of Proportions of Central Nervous System Manifestations Reported in Patients with Sjögren's Disease

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objective The objective of this scoping review was to synthesize evidence on the proportion of individuals living with Sjögren's disease who experience central nervous system (CNS) manifestations. Methods We searched MEDLINE (via PubMed) and Embase from 1980 through January 29, 2026, and the ECRI Guidelines Trust from 2020 through January 29, 2026 ...

Generative AI Utilization and Perspectives Among Reproductive‐Age Women with Systemic Autoimmune and Rheumatic Diseases

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objective Reproductive‐age women with systemic autoimmune and rheumatic diseases (SARDs) have unique information needs related to their SARDs and reproductive health. We sought to understand their use of and receptivity to current and hypothetical generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools for health information‐seeking. Methods We conducted a cross‐

dynoGP: Deep Gaussian Processes for Dynamic System Identification

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
This work introduces a novel class of deep models for system identification, dynamical deep Gaussian processes, which combine the strengths of data‐driven methods, such as those based on neural network architectures, with the ability to output a probability distribution for uncertainty representation.

β‐Catenin/c‐Myc Axis Modulates Autophagy Response to Different Ammonia Concentrations

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, Volume 9, Issue 3, March 2025.
Ammonia, detoxified by the liver into urea and glutamine, impacts autophagy differently at varying levels. Low ammonia activates autophagy via c‐Myc and β‐catenin, while high levels suppress it. Using Huh7 cells and Spf‐ash mice, c‐Myc's role in cytoprotective autophagy is revealed, offering insights into hyperammonemia and potential therapeutic ...

Revisiting Stability Criteria in Ball‐Milled High‐Entropy Alloys: Do Hume–Rothery and Thermodynamic Rules Equally Apply?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.
