Artificial Intelligence Meets Micro/Nanorobotics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Artificial intelligence is transforming micro‐ and nanorobots from externally controlled, task‐specific machines into adaptive, autonomous systems. Machine learning, multimodal perception, digital twins, AI‐guided materials and geometry design enhance propulsion, localization, decision‐making, whichaccelerates clinical and environmental applications ...

Data‐Driven Bulldozer Blade Control for Autonomous Terrain Leveling

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A simulation‐driven framework for autonomous bulldozer leveling is presented, combining high‐fidelity terramechanics simulation with a neural‐network‐based reduced‐order model. Gradient‐based optimization enables efficient, low‐level blade control that balances leveling quality and operation time.

MANAGERIAL RISK-TAKING AND THE ADOPTION OF ENERGY EFFICIENCY POLICY: IMPLICATIONS ON RESOURCE AVAILABILITY

open access: yesJournal of International Studies
The principal-agent contract motivates managers to take risks to increase shareholders’ returns. A key issue is whether managerial risk-taking decisions are made at the cost of sustainable practices, particularly in relation to environmental protection,

Keep it simple: Policy Responses to the Financial Crisis. CEPS Paperbacks. March 2009 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
With the aim of restoring a strong global framework for economic governance, this study proposes new rules of the game – imposed through the Group of 20 and the IMF – for the macroeconomic and exchange rate policies of the main players, including the ...

Cross‐Scale Hierarchical Targeted Delivery System Based on Small‐Scale Magnetic Robots

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This article reviews a cross‐scale hierarchical targeted delivery system that integrates magnetic continuum robots and magnetic microrobots. By combining rapid long‐range navigation with precise microscale targeting, the system overcomes key limitations of single‐scale approaches.

Climate change, household vulnerability and smart agriculture: The case of two South African provinces

open access: yesJàmbá, 2016
The impact of climate-change disasters poses significant challenges for South Africa, especially for vulnerable rural households. In South Africa, the impact of climate change at the local level, especially in rural areas, is not well known.

Consensus Formation and Change are Enhanced by Neutrality

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Neutral agents are shown to enhance both the formation and overturning of consensus in collective decision‐making. A general mathematical model and experiments with locusts and humans reveal that neutrality enables robust consensus via simple interactions and accelerates consensus change by reducing effective population size.

Physics‐Constrained Constitutive Learning of Rate‐Limiting Timescales for Efficient Hydrogen‐Based Direct Reduction for Green Steel Making

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A conversion‐resolved constitutive framework is developed for the hydrogen‐based direct reduction of iron oxide pellets. Effective reaction and transport timescales are inferred directly from measured trajectories and mapped against operating conditions, pellet architecture, and composition. The analysis reveals how late‐stage transport control emerges
